With thousands of people visiting the Prado every day, the legendary Madrid museum can get incredibly crowded. But the masses of visitors will be the least of your concern on this VIP Prado tour, which welcomes you into the silent galleries of the museum an hour before it opens to the public. Be struck breathless by Las Meninas, The Garden of Earthly Delights, Goya’s Black Paintings, and other icons of Spanish and European art—all without the crowds that will inevitably surround them later. At every step of the way, you’ll be accompanied by an art history expert as your guide, who will share the stories and context behind each work so you can make the most of every minute throughout this priceless experience. 

Meet your guide and small group outside the Prado and head straight in—an hour before the doors open to the general public! You’ll be the only people inside, apart from museum staff, giving you plenty of space to appreciate the collection away from the crowds.     Very few people can claim to have had Las Meninas all to themselves, to have seen every hidden detail of The Garden of Earthly Delights up close, or to have viewed Goya’s haunting Black Paintings alone in a silent gallery.   • Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour start time for check-in. Out of courtesy to other guests, we’re unable to wait for latecomers. No refunds can be provided for late arrivals or no-shows.

  • Photography, drinks and food are not allowed inside the Prado Museum.
  • Please note that guests may only carry small handbags inside Prado Museum. Larger backpacks, umbrellas and sharp items, etc. must be left at the cloakroom. It is the responsibility of the guest to return to the entrance to collect these after the tour part.
  • Comfortable walking shoes recommended.

Cancellation policy

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the activity starts

Cancellations received greater than 24 hours prior to tour commencement are fully refundable. Cancellations received within 24 hours of tour commencement are nonrefundable. Amendment requests are subject to availability and price changes. Late arrivals and no shows are nonrefundable. This is applicable to any tour participant that fails to arrive, or arrives after tour departure.

If you’re reading this, book it now! You’ll be one of the first on the boat and get the best spot before anyone else. Daniela (aka “Daniel”) treated us exceptionally well from start to finish. Her knowledge of the falls and the stories behind them was the perfect balance of informative and entertaining. She keeps you laughing throughout the tour and enjoys the experience right alongside you as if it were her first time seeing it. 10/10 — I would recommend this tour to anyone. As an added bonus, our group had only four people, which made the experience absolutely incredible and much more personal. Thanks again, Daniel! 😉
