Visit to Vancouver and Victoria Island
The pick up was easy, we got a glimpse of Vancouver, Simon's intro of the town was insightful and humorous. The ferry ride, the beautiful Butchart gardens were thoroughly enjoyable. It was a long trip thou.
Leslie was an amazing...
Leslie was an amazing tour guide and driver. He kept my teenage kids engaged (no easy task) and made the journey to Victoria interesting and fun. Butchart Gardens is definitely worth the trip!
Beautiful but lots of bus time
Not anyone’s fault but this tour involved a lot of sitting on the bus in the ferry parking lot. FYI you’re on the SAME BUS all day. If I’d known that, I’d have brought my book but didn’t want to be stuck carrying it a million places. Here is the actual layout of time for you, since it made no mathematical sense based on what’s listed. 7:50- leave from your hotel 8:20- leave from headquarters 9- arrive at ferry, time at rest stop area or on bus 10- ferry leaves 11:30- ferry arrives in Victoria 12:15- bus arrives at Butchart Gardens 2:15- bus departs Butchart gardens 3- bus arrives at downtown Victoria 5:20- bus departs Victoria 6- arrive at ferry, time at rest stop, wait for ferry on bus 7- ferry is supposed to depart (but sometimes it’s late or slow, which Simon kept talking about in between loads of actual fun history and pop culture) 8:30- ferry arrives in Vancouver 10- arrive back at hotel So more of a 14 hour day. Or more. The ferry ride is pretty and comfy. The gardens are gorgeous. Time for a nice meal in Victoria, albeit early. Just a lot of bus time because of all the waiting in the ferry lot.
Butchart Gardens are...
Butchart Gardens are beautiful. Victoria Island is well laid out and worth some time. Driver was hard to hear - had a quiet voice and started to mumble halfway through whatever he said. Also, he wasn’t overly polite when asked by multiple people to adjust the temperature. It is a long day with a lot of bus/ferry time.
A wonderful visit to the ButChart Gardens and Victoria Canada.
Beautiful gardens. Certainly worth visit. Moreover, the trip from beginning to end was very memorable. Our guide and bus driver took us through parts of Vancouver City and gave details of the city and it's heritage. We boarded a large ferry for the trip across to Victoria Island and the gardens. Then a bus ride to Victoria itself - the seat of government. Wonderful City. Walked around and had a great dinner on the harbor. Subsequently, a Ferry ride back to Vancouver. I would highly this excursion - be prepared to take up the whole day.
