Chillon Castle
We rode the train from Geneva to Montreux, and then took a bus to the castle. The self guided tour was excellent with many languages available on audio guide.
Vevey, Montreux, Chillon Day
A full day of exploring. On-time pick-up at my hotel. Greeted by Amin was our Tour expert. A narrated drive to our 1st Stop, Corsica Sur Vevey, The Chaplin Museum. A super stop that offers a Timberline of Charlie Chaplins career and personal life. After we had a vineyard side snack and wine tasting. ***This is my only disappointment. I read that a vineyard was a stop... and yes it was roadside with snacks and wine in a paper cup. **This could've been a Wine tasting...right? Next up a stop at Vevey. The Alimentarium was interesting - but not expected. Next stop - a castle. Lots of history and great photos. The last stop was waterside. A photo-op with an opportunity to walk the Freddie Mercury Sound Studio... this was the best.
Breathtaking views and amazing history
The excursion to Vevey and Montreux was magical. Breathtaking views of Lac Leman and the Alps. The stops at Chaplin’s World and Chillon Castle were the icing on the cake. Our guide was great; provided just the right amount of narrative during the day and gave us a nice snack and wine at a vineyard overlooking the lake. If you appreciate music, be sure to find your way to the Queen Studio Experience during free time in Montreux; amazing to see where Freddie Mercury and Queen recorded their last several albums. I highly recommend this excursion.
Great Excursion from Geneva
Very informative and our guide was extremely helpful. The Charlie Chaplin museum was a pleasant surprise. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Aristotlle, our driver was fantastic. Great daybon the Suisse Riviera!
A great way to see the perimeter of the lake.
A great way to see the perimeter of the lake. You will do and see a lot on this tour. We were lucky, the weather was lovely, cool and sunny. The Charlie Chaplin Museum was amazing. Make sure you leave enough time for the Studio. We didn't and had to race through it. For some reason the tour guide was trying to talk us out of visiting Vevey. Luckily we went, nice quiet area with the famous Fork in the Lake. The Chillon Castle was nice to visit. Montreux was very busy on this day. But if you love Queen and Freddie Mercury it's a must see. (Our tour guide kept calling them The Queen) Overall a great day and worth the trip.
