You’ve heard about one of the world’s most famous painters, Vincent Van Gogh. But what do you really know about this Dutch artist? This tour will introduce you to the man behind the famous sunflowers and self-portraits that are featured in galleries around the world. See his work “The Potato Eaters” and “The Bedroom” as well as objects from his studio. Visit the world’s largest collection of Van Gogh’s works while learning about his troubled life from his days in Holland to his dramatic ending in France. And yes, we’ll discuss that whole ear incident.  Depending on whether the artwork is on loan or being restored, the following pieces of art may include Van Gogh's large collection of self portraits, early and obscure works, objects from his studio, Sunflowers, Yellow House and Wheat Field with Crows.

A complete perspective of the Van Gough story. Including the mysteries

Anna showed care in meeting individual needs in the group. Portable chairs , elevator choices and an accommodation pace. Anna's presentation was not the usual encyclopedic text. S She presented inside knowledge with an emphasis on family history, and their own art galleries and businesses supporting Vincent. She emphasized the viewing perspective of distance to the paintings, the colors and the impact of aging and fading. It was refreshing to learn about his many styles and his prolific pace of production. The museum features the largest selection at any location, including examples of his many copies and redo's. She gave examples of his other influences and hints at why yellow was his favorite color.

A comprehensive tour of Van Gough: life, times and art.

Anna presented Van Gough as a man and his art during his short life. She dispelled some misconceptions without reciting rumors or myths. She made sure everyone in our group was taken care of with portable chairs and elevators when and where needed. Thank You Anna.
