Itinerary
Begin your journey with hotel pickups (select locations only) before heading to Te Toka o Apihai Te Kawau, the founding memorial of Auckland on the waterfront.
Travel along scenic Tamaki Drive to this historic and visually striking clifftop park honouring one of New Zealand’s most respected leaders.
Pass by: Cruise along the waterfront past this iconic local beach suburb, with insights into the area’s history and volcanic landscape.
Stop to take in sweeping views of the Hauraki Gulf and Rangitoto Island, the youngest and largest of Auckland’s 48 volcanic cones.
Explore the city’s oldest park and see the Auckland War Memorial Museum, tropical gardens, and peaceful ponds. Pass through charming Parnell en route.
Drive through Newmarket and head to Auckland’s highest natural point. Take a short walk to the summit for spectacular views and a look into the heart of this dormant volcano.
Complete the city portion by travelling through Karangahape Road and Queen Street, finishing beneath the Sky Tower.
Cross the Harbour Bridge and head west into the countryside. Arrive at Hallertau Brewery for a delicious lunch from a set menu, with the option to sample local craft beers (at your own cost).
Visit Auckland’s wild west coast and walk along the dramatic black sand beach. Learn about the region’s geology, wildlife, and raw natural beauty.
Take a short walk up the clifftop trail for coastal views and a chance to see the largest mainland gannet colony in the North Island (nesting season varies).
Crossing the harbour again, we head to the charming seaside suburb of Devonport. Here, we take a scenic drive to the top of North Head, a historic volcanic cone with sweeping views of the Hauraki Gulf and city skyline. Learn about its fascinating military tunnels and coastal defence history as you explore this unique vantage point.
After a great afternoon exploring Auckland’s West Coast and North Shore, it’s time to return to the city. You can choose to take the scenic ferry ride back across the harbour from Devonport to the city, or enjoy a fully guided drive with drop-offs at central locations and hotels.

Traveler reviews
Day tour
I got an e mail that they may have to cancel this tour and it was very unsure if they would do it right up until the day before. That was stressful but I am glad that it was able to proceed because it was so fun! Got to see so many things and great photo opportunities. A wonderful lunch! Matt was our guide and he was so great to help us see things and answer questions.
Cathedral tour

Auckland in a day
The best tour to cover the best Auckland has to offer, it’ll be a long day with a lot of driving but you will not be disappointed by the story telling and views along the way to make the experience worth it
Full day worth it.
This was a great trip. I highly recommend the full day experience if going to be in Auckland for only a short time as gives a picture of Auckland and it's surroundings. For some travelers, it might even help to decide more in depth adventures to take. This was my second trip with Simon in a week. He is absolutely great!!!! He provided great commentary on the things visited, made certain all in group were engaged. In our group, we decided what places to go/see based on options he noted. Oh yes, although I don't drink coffee, those who do enjoyed the place he selected.
Simon was very professional he took us to a lovely place for lunch.
Simon was absolutely brilliant went above and beyond to make sure we seen as much as we could, nothing was too much trouble.
