Traveler reviews
Really poor customer service
It was such a shame because I’m sure this experience could have been fantastic with decent customer service. From the start, doors were blocked off and it wasn’t clear where visitors were supposed to go. One staff member running the Beam experience was incredibly rude. She directed me through a door, but on the other side it was taped off, which caused me to trip. The floors were also extremely wet, and no one seemed interested in sorting it out or making the area safe. I was told to remove my canvas bag and place it on soaking wet storage boxes covered in puddles. When I asked if there was anything to dry it with, the staff member just laughed and said no. The seats for the Beam experience weren’t dried either, so after paying $60 we ended up with completely wet clothes just for a photo. To make matters worse, the picture was ruined because there was a raindrop on the camera lens and you couldn’t even see my face properly. Again, the response from staff was just laughter. I understand the weather itself wasn’t Rockefeller Center’s fault, but good customer service could have completely changed the experience. Instead, it felt like it was being run by kids who simply didn’t want to be there. Overall, we really wish we hadn’t bothered. The Empire State Building was a far classier and more professional experience.
Great experience and pleased that we did it
I pre booked tickets, not that there were long queues. Think it would be worth doing regardless. We went straight in and through to the holding area in minutes. We didn’t have the best weather but still had great views of the city. Facilities were decent, we had coffee in the bar area, very chilled, didn’t feel rushed and took the opportunity to enjoy the views we had. All staff were friendly, think we probably would have stayed longer if we had better weather.
Worth a visit
Well organised with geat staff.
Even in the rain it’s a must
Weather was miserable but the views were still unmissable. It was raining so this clearly put some people off, the whole experience was worth it though. The brief history lesson followed by a cool lift ride. We also did the elevated tower that we had to ourselves! Did our now pictures but looking at the quality of the professional ones think we missed a trick. Head up for iconic views
Summit one venderbilt is...
Summit one venderbilt is far better experience. Too much congested and requires attention towards maintenance, cleanliness and some of the staff behaviour
