Fantastic experience
The Blasket Island experience was the highlight of our trip so far! The guides were knowledgeable, everything ran smoothly. The tour size was just a dozen people so not too. If. Walking around the island was great. The beach there is pristine. We saw seals, dolphins. Puffins and other seabirds. Highly recommend!
Top tour
Fantastic tour! One of the top experiences we ever had!
Brilliant Informative Tour at a Great Price!
An unreal tour that gives passengers a real flavour of what lies off the wild, untamed coast of West Kerry. The tour started at 11:30 with a tour of the coast between Dingle Harbour and the Great Blasket island in which the skippers enthusiastically explained the geology and wildlife that live along this section of the trip. After this we were dropped off onto the Great Blasket Island itself and left to their own devices for 3 hours where we could go to the Caifé, hiking or swimming. After pickup from the island we were then brought around Inishnabro, a bird sanctuary and Inisvickillaun (Haughey’s Island) whose histories and ecologies were explained to us by our passionate skippers before returning to Dingle again for 6 pm. At only 90 euro this tour is great value for money!
A unique & unforgettable experience!
This 6.5 hour tour was arranged months before we arrived in Dingle, but it is definitely weather dependent. Having said that, the team of Alice (manager), Sean (skipper), and Richard 1st mate extraordinaire), kept safety first as we went out in fairly choppy seas while their wonderful educational banter with the 12 of us on board. Once we arrived, they expertly transferred us to a small inflatable to allow us to get to shore. Top marks all around! Once on the island, you have a few hours to explore, hike, picnic, check out the beach, and (possibly) interact with the lucky folks who secured overnight slots on the island. At first I thought, “What am I going to do for hours on the island?” However, when we departed, (despite the misty conditions), I wanted more time to explore! We also saw tons of birds (especially puffins!) on a nearby (smaller) Blasket island. We even spotted a minke whale, a couple of dolphins, and a sunfish on our return to Dingle. An amazing day!
Such a memorable experience - Highly recommend
From the friendly, professional, knowledgeable crew (Sean & Richard), to the excellent OPW guide Reece, and the the friendly cafe owners, all contributed to an extremely enjoyable visit to the island..seals, dolphins, puffins, a whale! Excellent geology and local history..enthusiastically regaled by the crew out and back from the island. Highly recommend this tour...
