Itinerary
Pass by: Soon after pick up at your accommodation in Cape Town we will drive along the N1 national road towards Fairview Wine and Cheese estate.
Upon our arrival at Fairview Wine and Cheese estate, your tour guide will escort you to the Wine tasting area. Roaming between the 4 Wine tasting pods and the delightful Cheese and condiments Deli, you will have the opportunity to taste six of the best wine and cheese produced in this region. Wine and Cheese are all available for purchasing.
We drive a short distance to Babylonstoren. Set upon the backdrop of the Simonsberg, Du Toitskloof and Franschhoek mountains, Babylonstoren is one of the most beautiful wine estates in the Cape Winelands. The estate boasts a fruit and vegetable garden and a farm-to-table restaurant called Babel (booking essential). There are two other eateries on the estate, Greenhouse and the Bakery. Greenhouse serves picnic-style lunches and refreshments, whilst the Bakery serves informal Dinners. We spend 1-hour on a Wine Tasting journey of 3 or 7 of the finest wines available for purchase at Babylonstoren.
Our last wine estate stop will be at Marianne Wine Estate. Marianne produces some of the best Red Wine cultivars in South Africa. Here we will enjoy a Biltong and Wine tasting. Marianne believes that biltong (dried meat) enhances the flavors of their wine produced. Marianne's Floreal wine was hand picked by Chef Gordon Ramsey for Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday at Buckingham Palace.
Pass by: We take a scenic drive through Dorp Street in the town of Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa, on a drive-by town orientation tour. See the historical Cape Dutch-style houses and the famous Stellenbosch University.
Pass by: From there we make our way back to Cape Town for drop off at your accommodation between 14:00 and 14:30pm

Half day winelands tour.
Absolutely amazing service and experience! We truly got to enjoy the wonders of the Winelands in the most authentic and unforgettable way. If you’re looking for a local experience that leaves a lasting impression, having Ibrahim as your tour guide is a must. His knowledge, energy, and passion made the day unforgettable , truly one for the books. What a fantastic guide!
Lovely experience
Gordon was an amazing tour guide and took us to some of the best wineries in Stellenbosch. We did not feel rushed and we were able to really soak in the experience. I highly recommend this half day tour if you’re looking to get out of the city and see some beautiful landscapes nearby.
Bypass Viator
We LOVED our tour guide, Ray who was so professional and informative, and the wine venues, themselves, were great. Viator, however, isn’t to be trusted with scheduling. We’ve only used them twice, in two different parts of the world, and they botched our schedules, both times. Go direct with local tour guides and bypass Viator if at all possible.
Half day of wine tasting was LOVELY! Thomas was a great driver and guide!
We had a wonderful day with our private driver- It was a last minute booking and the driver Thomas was so kind and fun! Very knowlegeable about wines and the area. He chose 3 different wineries - each had food (usually to purchase) and a lovely tasting. He would make sure that they would seat us right away by communicating with those in charge. I highly recommend this trip!
