There’s some incredible wine to be found here, too, and we’ll take you straight to the source to try it at our favorite family-run vineyard. Complete with comfortable private transport and a masterful storyteller as your guide, we’ve crafted the perfect itinerary to help you make the most of one day in this celebrated corner of Spain.

Your day begins bright and early in central Madrid, where you’ll meet your guide and small group, then hop into a private, air-conditioned minibus for the 90-minute trip to Toledo.

Before entering Toledo, you’ll stop at one of its most famous viewpoints for an unforgettable photo op. Once we’ve made it into the city proper, we’ll embark on a walking tour of Toledo’s historic center as your guide regales you with the stories and legends of the three major religious traditions and the lasting impacts they’ve made on the city. Be transported to another era as you enter the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca and take in this exquisitely revered symbol of Toledo.

You'll also step inside the must-see Primada Cathedral. Construction was started in 1227, and nearly 800 years later, the cathedral serves as an enduring reference for pastoral life, art and history. Your guide's detailed stories and explanations will help you appreciate the breathtaking details even more.

To wrap up our guided stroll through Toledo, we’ll pop into a cozy family-run gourmet shop and mini-museum just off the tourist trail. Here, you'll enjoy an expert-led tasting of local products like Manchego cheese, Spain’s famous Iberian ham, and a glass of wine. From there, you’ll have a bit of free time to go souvenir shopping or grab a quick bite (we’ve got a special custom-made map packed with tons of recommendations!) before we depart the city.

Having explored the best of Toledo, we’ll hop back on the bus and ride to a family-owned winery tucked into the mountains outside the city. Stroll through the verdant vineyards and enjoy a tasting of three of their exquisite biodynamic wines, hosted by one of the family members who owns the bodega. We’ll end our day on a memorable note by seeing how grapes go from vine to bottle in their production facility.

Finally, we’ll make our way back to the bus for the quick hour-long trip back to Madrid, where you’ll arrive with plenty of time to get ready for an evening tapas crawl.

Amendment requests are subject to availability and price changes. Late arrivals and no shows are nonrefundable. If you’re reading this, book it now! You’ll be one of the first on the boat and get the best spot before anyone else. Daniela (aka “Daniel”) treated us exceptionally well from start to finish. Her knowledge of the falls and the stories behind them was the perfect balance of informative and entertaining. She keeps you laughing throughout the tour and enjoys the experience right alongside you as if it were her first time seeing it. 10/10 — I would recommend this tour to anyone.
