Itinerary
A brief visit to the National University of Mexico which contains an outdoor gallery of mural art made from the world famous Diego Rivera as well as we will visit the National Library, the Rectory and the Stadium.
Upon reaching the calm waters of the Xochimilco canals and its floating gardens, you will enjoy a picturesque cruise through one of the last traces of the Aztec period in a traditional trajinera or pre-Hispanic boat. Learn the history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, first established as a pre-Columbian city on the shores of Lake Xochimilco just south of Mexico City. On board this typical canoe of the area you will travel through canals surrounded by floating gardens while you delight your palate with exquisite dishes and typical drinks.
Enjoy a brief visit to Coyoacan, known as the cultural heart of Mexico City, a place that is very popular with people who live nearby and who has been a source of inspiration for various national and international artists. We will be visiting the area and admire its sixteenth century mansions and the Church of San Bautista. A fantastic and charming walking Tour where you will enjoy passing one after the other the small streets full with color, history and with a romantic touch. Traveler reviews
Tour with a time crunch!
This was a trip visiting 3 attractions- the van was comfortable with Jorge driving smoothly. My wife uses a walker and he was very attentive and helpful .Nazarus, our guide, was pleasant and gave us some information about the attractions. The Xochimilio boat ride was the first- the canal was quiet which we liked.- the ride was enjoyable. Because of traffic and starting an hour late, we couldn’t spend time at the NAM university - could not go up close to the wall murals which was one of the main reasons for us to book this tour. That was disappointing! The Coyoquan walking tour was brief . Lunch at the Coyoquan market was good. We then finished with the Frida Kahlo blue house visit which was fantastic. Most of the explorations were in English so could understand. Given the heavy traffic, not able to cover all 3 attractions fully. Would do 1 or 2 of the attractions at one time.
Day Tour Was Up to Expectations
This tour was everything we wanted for a day trip visit to Coyoacán, floating gardens, and Friday Kahlo house. Great guide provided historical narrative during drive, allowed for time to visit market, eat locally, & see other sites. We were impressed with driver’s skill & patience through Mexico City traffic that we found a bit overwhelming.
Entertaining and informative
Our tour guide 0, Patricia (Pato) was so impressive -her in-depth historical knowledge of Mexico along with her shared experience of Mexican culture made for a very interesting and informative outing. Thanks to Pato ( her nickname and a great story ) we were given one on one opportunities at each stop. I am 78 and it was a long day for me however well worth the time
Beautiful experience
It was nice to ride a trajinera But the guide didn't provide much information. Those of us who were able to enter the Frida Museum we missed knowing the beautiful Coyoacán Everything is very rushed and no time to appreciate things They should give more time in Coyacan
A fabulous day which covers everything; history, culture, food and local markets.
We have been traveling around the USA and Mexico and this was by far my favorite tour so far. Our guide, Monserat, was AMAZING! She was warm, welcoming and so knowledgeable and passionate. The tour itself was well organised. We spent just the right amount of time in every location. Even my teenagers enjoyed it!
