Full description
Phare artists are graduates from Phare Ponleu Selpak non-profit school, formed in 1994 by 9 former refugees of the Khmer Rouge war and French humanitarian Veronique Decrop who used drawing classes as therapy. The school was founded to offer free artistic and academic education and to revive Cambodian arts. Today more than 1,200 pupils attend the public school daily and 500 attend the alternative schools.
Phare The Cambodian Circus offers these students and graduates somewhere to hone their skills and a place to earn a decent wage. Money that will take them out of poverty and give them self-respect and freedom.

Reviews
The best
A great circus and a wonderful evening out in Siem Reap. The venue is small and intimate, so you feel close to the performers throughout the show. The seats aren’t the most comfortable, but the performance is only around an hour long, so it wasn’t a problem. If you have Area C tickets, I’d recommend arriving around 7:30 p.m. to get the best choice of seats. The performers are incredibly talented, energetic, expressive, and fun to watch. The combination of acrobatics, theatre, music, and humour makes for a unique experience. Overall, I had a fantastic evening and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Siem Reap.
Superb performance with stellar acting, acrobatics and live music. This is highly recommended on a visit to Siem Reap. Our entire family enjoyed the Cambodian circus which is better than a regular circus because no animals are involved. The skills of the performers is absolutely outstanding!
