Step aboard our Showboat for a festive musical cruise through Copenhagen's canals! This year's theme is the swan – elegant, temperamental, and often misunderstood, it is a creature that has inspired artists, composers, and storytellers for centuries.
From ballet and opera to fairy tales and national romanticism, the program takes you through the swan's many shifting forms. Encounter the national bird, the dying swan of ballet, Hans Christian Andersen's fairy-tale swan, and Leda and the Swan, all brought to life by talented opera singers performing hand-picked arias. The program spans from Tchaikovsky and Wagner to Schubert, with a few surprising turns into musical theater and pop. The performance is in Danish.
The Showboat runs from August 13 through September 6, 2026. The tour departs from Ved Stranden and lasts approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.
