Itinerary
Krabi Town is the gateway to many places in Krabi or the provinces nearby, a really nice place that's located not far from the Andaman Sea, Krabi Town's slogan is "Lovely Town, Lively People", and once you're there, you can see why. Especially toward the evening, you'll find lots of outdoor eating places by the river, frying up fresh noodles and seafood to lots of hungry locals and tourists. On weekends, Krabi culture hits top gear with the great market that's got entertainment, a great variety of food choices, and an assortment of local arts and crafts. There's an air of eccentricity about Krabi Town too, made evident by the ape-like statues that hold the town's central traffic lights amongst other interesting city sculptures. Krabi Town's worth a visit. Transportation from Koh Lanta to Krabi Town is pretty easy by A/C van, including pickup service at your hotel. It’s about 3 hours journey from Koh Lanta to Krabi Town. Pick up from your hotel and exact pick-up time will be confirmed by email after your booking completed. Journey by A/C vans to Krabi Town operate all year round.

Traveler reviews
Lanta Matcha Tours - transfer from Ao Nang to Koh Lanta.
As this was the low season, boats weren’t doing the transfers and we had to travel by road. We expected this trip to take the 3 hours as described however, 5 hours later we reached our destination. We picked up a few other passengers and were then taken to the Matcha office in Old Krabi Town to sit around for about 90 min waiting for another minibus to take us onward. The dude in the office started making demands for additional money from some of the passengers tho he fortunately didn’t broach the topic with me. Our driver was a dude named Mr Mack who was the speed demon from hell. The journey was in the rain and that was not a feature of his risk perception. Overtaking on yellow lines, speeding and almost rear ending other vehicles. Whilst we were waiting to board the ferry, someone left the door of the van open for other passengers and Mr Mack just lost the plot. He became quite animated from that point. One of the low points of our trip. Quite unsafe and disorganised. Shabby!
Reliable and Professional Transport Service
We were very satisfied with the transport service. Everything was carried out according to the agreed conditions, with timely updates on any possible departure changes. The pickup was on time, and the delivery was made directly to the address. The ride was safe and comfortable. We highly recommend this service!
To packed, not room for luggage, all seat taken så you had to sit with it innyour lap
The van was packed with people and luggage! Was almost not able to breath. The driver was very friendly and drove us safely. I will not book it again. It is worth paying a little more (we are 5 people) to get an private van.
Got there safe and on time.
I booked (and paid) for two tickets as I was unable to book only one through Viator for some reason, so when the (already quite grumpy) driver arrived to just me waiting it threw him (and the people he called) into a tailspin and took quite a while for them to accept that there was only me. Packed us in like sardines, but hey, that’s what happens when you book a shared-journey I guess. Got to the destination on time and the van has aircon. I got off in Krabi town as I was staying at quite a remote resort, and it was super easy to find a ride with Grab. Others in the van continuing on to Ao Nang had to change vans in Krabi town.
Basic service, fair price, got to my destination on time...
Basic pick up and drop off service. I got to my destination on time and at a fair price. Compared to a service I used to get from Ao Nang to Koh Lanta the ride was not very comfortable as the van was packed to the gills with people and luggage (can't fault the company for this as it all depends on how much luggage people pack), but the driver was not the friendliest and was visibly annoyed when a passenger asked to use the bathroom while on the ferry boat because he'd have to unpack the van to let her out. Would I book again? Probably, but know that these shared van services will vary in experience/customer service based on number of people, amount of lugguage, and the personality of the driver.
