Good guide , long day
Had a good day but in all truth it dragged on a bit, it was busy day so the guide Chloe had no choice to get later tickets to enter the DMZ. The Peace park was interesting, as well as Chloe's explanations about the history, and for us the highlight was the observation tower.looking across to N Korea. The tunnel and bridge were not really worth the effort and added to the length of the day. The defector talk was poorly managed so in the back row you couldn't here either her or the interpreter which was a shame as we brought her book which was interesting. Lunch was cheap but not nice, and there came a bit we just got wanted to return. It may all be your thing, but if there was an option to have a half day without the tunnel or bridge we would take it...good guide tho
Julie is a great tour guide
You will learn the history of Korea. Julie is very knowledgeable and entertaining. You will shred a tear during the defector presentation and leave with how powerful a mother can be.
Overlong and overwrought.
This trip feels a bit padded. Lots of time on a coach between stops. Guide “Happy Sam” had childlike enthusiasm which got a bit much, especially when he broke into tears on the way back. The suspension bridge was ok but superfluous, the tunnel is a lot of awkward walking for a few seconds to look through a tiny window, but gotta be done I guess. Observatory was interesting as was the defector talk. I just felt that if you took out the travelling you’ve got about an hours worth of content for a full day out.
When in Seoul don't miss out on the DMZ
Very interesting half day tour to the DMZ. Instructions were very clear, received WhatsApp message prior to departure with when and where to meet. Our lovely tour guide Spring gave us a quick history lesson before our first stop at the Peace Park. Continued to give information on the way throughout our next stops at the observatory and 3rd tunnel you won't necessarily find on Wikipedia. 3rd tunnel is quite a hike with humidity so not for everyone. Taking photos isn't allowed everywhere but Spring always informed us when and where there was an opportunity. Bus was always one time and air-conditioned. Interesting trip, would recommend 10/10. 👌
