Your experience begins in Columbus Park, located in what was once the notorious Five Points—one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in 19th-century New York, famously portrayed in Gangs of New York. Today, it’s a lively gathering place and the perfect starting point for your culinary adventure.
From here, you’ll head into Chinatown, where your first tasting features freshly made fried dumplings from a beloved local spot. As you walk through bustling streets filled with markets and family-run businesses, your guide will share stories of the neighborhood’s early Chinese community, including tales of its first entrepreneurs and infamous locations like the “Bloody Angle.”
Next, you’ll sample a baked roast pork bun—an iconic creation born from the fusion of Cantonese cuisine and Western baking techniques in mid-20th century Hong Kong.
As the tour continues, something remarkable happens—you’ll turn a corner and suddenly find yourself in Little Italy, where the atmosphere, language, and flavors completely transform.
Here, you’ll step into a historic Italian bakery dating back to the late 1800s and enjoy a classic mini cannoli. Then, visit a legendary bar that has appeared in multiple mafia films and TV shows, before grabbing a slice of authentic New York-style pizza.
The experience continues with a comforting Italian classic: fresh pasta served with tender, slow-cooked meatballs in rich marinara sauce—just like in a traditional Italian home.
