Reviews
This was a really cool way to see Seattle for the first time on the water. Also got lucky and got a cool shot of Mt Rainer. Benjamin was also a good tour guide.
This Harbor Locks cruise was such a treat. I came into Seattle for Flock Fiber Festival but I got to town a few days early and really had nothing pre planned. I was staying with a friend in Ballard and looked up things I could get to fairly easily, particularly on public transit. A friend recommended seeing the Ballard Locks and this cruise came up in my search. I love a boat ride, especially in Seattle on the summer, and the bus route (40) took me all the way to where I needed to be. I walked maybe half a block into the Argosy parking lot/dock. They scanned our tickets and let us on the boat when it was time. It was spacious with lots of great seating, clean bathrooms and several snacking options available for purchase. The staff was helpful and gave a great tour with lots of information about the area and all the sights we were passing. I’d never been through a lock before so that was interesting and cool to witness. I would definitely recommend this tour whether you are solo or traveling in a group (including littles or elderly). It was a great way to spend an afternoon. I also liked the one way aspect because it let me explore a different part of the city. I didn’t the Lake Union to Seattle Pier route. Got a cub of clam chowder on the pier after the tour, sat in the new swings installed on the pier, then headed up to Beguiled Bookstore before catching the bus back to Ballard. Also! The Argosy Team had great customer service and staff. I bought my tickets same day and had mistakenly purchased it twice. I called the cruise line and they answered fairly quickly and were able to refund the duplicate ticket right away. And then attendant at check in at the dock was the same person that answered the phone. She actually remembered me when she saw my name on the ticket. I appreciated that it seemed like a small but well functioning team working together to bring great experiences to travelers and locals seeing the area. Overall I’d book this tour again, or any run by Argosy, and recommend to anyone visiting Seattle.
Madi was awesome! Great tour, relaxing and informative!
