Truly Unique Experience

We went to the Strathmore Highland Games held at Glamis Castle. It was truly a highlight of our trip to Scotland. Since the games were held on the grounds of Glamis Castle we were able to visit the castle and go to the games. You do have to pay separately for the guided tour at the castle, but I definitely think it was worth it. The castle itself was fascinating and would have been fun to visit even if the games were not taking place. The games themselves were so much fun. It was crowded but it was possible to get a good view of the events. There isn't a lot of seating, so be prepared to stand or sit on the grass. There were a good number of local vendors at the games, and I would recommend brining cash if you want to buy anything as the wifi did not work well so many of the vendors couldn't take card payments. We spent basically the whole day at the castle and games, and enjoyed every second of it! Our coach driver Ryan was wonderful even though we only really got to interact on the drive to and from the games. He was very friendly and informative during the drive, and he was always willing to answer anyone's questions. Although I can't say how the other highland games compare I highly recommend going to the Strathmore Games at Glamis Castle.

Amazing day trip with Ryan!

We took a day trip with Ryan out to Blair Atholl on a large bus (coach) to watch the Highland Games. He did a wonderful job and was very entertaining, telling us all sorts of stories along the route but not talking too much. He did an excellent job driving, as a lot of streets were closed for a marathon, but he navigated very well and got us out of the city. Great trip! The games were awesome!

Great outing

Beautiful day and beautiful site. Our guide Ryan was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and gave many helpful suggestions of places to go in Edinburgh on the way back.

Wonderful experience of Highland Games

A fantastic day at the games with great stories on the bus. It was an easy way too see some of Scotlands bucket list cultural activities.
