Amazing
What a wonderful tour we had. We learned and laughed a lot during the tour.
Santorini wine tour - a must do!
We just did the Santorini wine tour with Marina as our guide. She was absolutely wonderful - knew everything about the wine and region and her passion was felt. Highly recommended the tour and her!! One of the best ways to see the island while enjoying a piece of Santorini
A big let Down
This was our 6th visit in 7 years, and this one was to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary (25 Years) On our holidays we always have one special night out and in Santorini we have always chosen Santo Wines. This time we came with 4 close friends, there was supposed to be another 2, but they had to cancel their holiday. This visit was the most disappointing visit we have had, the views and the wine were fabulous, but the food and service were very disappointing. Firstly, we were told that there was no Duck or Wagyu Souvlakis available, which was the choice of 2 guests, as it was your last night and these were the out of stock. When we ordered 4 of our party ordered scallops, then our host returned to say there were only 2 portions available so they would have to reorder. We ordered a bottle of Rose sparkling before our meal and the 5-wine taster to accompany it. A second bottle of Rose was requested whilst we awaited our food, this was overlooked and never arrived. After the magnificent sunset it went cool and all the tables were given heaters, unfortunately we could not have one as there was no gas available for our heater, so we were offered blankets. Upon leaving, whilst waiting for our taxi a member of our party said that his lamb chops were over cooked and a slightly burnt. He did not like to comment at the table as he saw how unhappy we were and did not want to make us feel any worse. When we made comments to our host, he made light of the situation saying that it was the last night of the season and nothing could be done. From the above you can see our special evening which we had looked forward to and told our friends how good Santo wines is, which we booked back in June was spoiled by the above. Maybe we should have been told when we booked that it was your last night with limited offerings. I feel that for such a prestigious venue, which is not cheap (€850) we have been seriously let down. We will never have another silver wedding anniversary and on our next visit to Santorini will be looking for a different venue for our special night out. As per previous years we will be posting on trip advisor, but it won’t be the 5 star review like on our previous 5 visits. I have emailed Santos direct but have had reply in two weeks, so have posted on TA
Mary was superb
This was an amazing experience for myself and my partner. We met some lovely people and tasted a great variety of beautiful unique wines. The food pairings were substantial and complimented the corresponding wines well. Mary was absolutely stellar at her job - warm, high energy, funny, knowledgeable and passionate. We really couldn’t have asked for a better guide, Mary is an asset to the company. Thank you Mary!
Loved it!
We had a lovely time! Lots of great views, very interesting information, and great wine and snacks! We enjoyed having the smaller group of only eight people, it made the experience feel very intimate!
