Full description
Your tour kicks off at a bar that’s been a local favorite since the 1970s, where you'll taste a selection of the best mussels in town paired with dry Basque cider. Master the fine art of pouring cider from a height straight into your glass and learn all about the cultural phenomenon of "txotx." This traditional stop will be your first introduction into what going out for pintxos really means in San Sebastian.
Next, you’ll dive into the fascinating world of Spain’s most famous delicacy: cured Iberian ham. Step into a family-run gem stocked with Basque and Spanish gourmet products, where you'll try two of the most renowned (and most expensive) cured hams especially chosen by our friend Sylvain. By the time we leave, you’ll have an understanding of the differences between them—and a favorite!
From here, we’ll head around the corner to the Old Town’s picturesque main square, which boasts a surprising past that might not be obvious at first glance. One block away is our next food stop: a bar that serves up the best house-marinated anchovies you'll ever try. Think you don't like anchovies? Just wait—Manu and Josu's secret family recipe has changed the mind of many an anchovy doubter, and you just might be next! Here you'll also learn the story of the first pintxo ever invented and taste regional sparkling wine.
Up next, we’ll visit one of the city’s most famous pintxo bars where the past meets the present—and where the best local ingredients and innovative cooking techniques help the pintxos truly shine.
Last but not least, we’ll cap off our San Sebastian food tour at a restaurant that's been open since the 1950s. You’ll try a truly local dessert you can only find here, paired with a sweet wine!
By the time the tour comes to an end, you will have conquered the most essential bars in the Old Town—and the best pintxos at each one. You'll also leave armed with knowledge on how to make the most of the rest of your time here in the city.

Reviews
If you’re reading this, book it now! You’ll be one of the first on the boat and get the best spot before anyone else. Daniela (aka “Daniel”) treated us exceptionally well from start to finish. Her knowledge of the falls and the stories behind them was the perfect balance of informative and entertaining. She keeps you laughing throughout the tour and enjoys the experience right alongside you as if it were her first time seeing it. 10/10 — I would recommend this tour to anyone. As an added bonus, our group had only four people, which made the experience absolutely incredible and much more personal. Thanks again, Daniel! 😉
