Nice highlights of Vietnamese cuisine

Having booked this tour extremely last minute (the morning of), we had very little expectations going into it --- my girlfriend and I were just seeking better insight into Saigon's culture beyond the guise and performance of tourist go-to's, but my goodness did this tour deliver! Ryan and co. arrived 5 minutes early at our accommodation, shared small talk with us as we waited out the brunt of the passing storm, and then guided us through an intimate cultural and culinary walk-through of Saigon's daily life. While the tastings (9 dishes and 3 drinks) hit the mark in taste, diversity, and authenticity, what really stood out to us was the history lesson that'd been seamlessly intertwined with the experience! From decrepit war-time apartment complexes to streets of hardbass and neon, this was a testament to Ryan's true passion and love for his work, which became clearer as our conversations explored more personal topics. And just when we thought it couldn't get any better, Ryan and co. went out of their way to bring us to a "secret" tourist-less spot that provided panoramic views of the Saigon cityscape at night. This experience is something I will definitely be recommending to friends and family visiting Saigon in the years to come! To play the devil's advocate, I would say that the one thing that could be improved upon is the consistency of engagement between riders and passengers. I understand that each tour is led by a lead guide but I felt a little bad for my girlfriend who did not interact with her rider as much as I interacted with my rider (Ryan) throughout the motorbike rides.

Anna was an absolute pleasure — warm, engaging, and incredibly skilled navigating the nonstop energy of Saigon while introducing me to some of the most delectable culinary delights throughout the city. And trust me… this is NOT just a “tasting tour.” These are full small-plate meals packed with explosive flavors ranging from seafood and savory beef dishes to vegetarian specialties and unforgettable desserts. By stop number three I was completely full, but every single dish deserved at least one more bite. What made the evening even more special was the final ride through the vibrant nightlife of Ho Chi Minh City — from the bustling inner streets to the dazzling luxury towers and high-rises lighting up the skyline. Anna even helped me stop at a pharmacy along the way, which somehow became one of the highlights of my evening. Thank you, Anna, for making this drift through Saigon so memorable. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to truly experience the flavor, culture, and heartbeat of this incredible city.
