Itinerary

The Basilica of San Clemente in Rome offers a fascinating journey through history. The 12th-century upper basilica is adorned with a stunning apse mosaic and Cosmatesque marble inlays. Beneath it lies a 4th-century Christian church, built on a Roman nobleman's house, with medieval frescoes depicting scenes from the life of St. Clement. Further below, a 1st-century Mithraeum, an underground temple dedicated to the god Mithras, reveals ancient Roman religious practices, along with the remains of Roman warehouses and residential buildings. The basilica showcases Rome’s evolution from paganism to Christianity in a single, extraordinary site.

nice visit

Very nice basilica and very nice boat tour but really not clear layout, lack of precision on the point of taking the boat, and hop-up contract cancelled last minute, but finally possible in agreement with the boat live, and live boat price significantly cheaper than agency price.... So a little borderline....

Great way to relax whilst seeing the sites

We had excellent, friendly communication from the start. Full explanation of the trip when we collected our tickets, including an app for the tour, a map of where to go and advice on timings. We were very lucky to have beautiful sunshine for the Tiber river boat which made the views even more breathtaking taking.
