Amazing Day

This was an amazing trip to the Kwai Bridge and something I have wanted to do for along time. The guide was very informative and helpful. We went to the Floating Market and a fresh fish market. Then we were able to view coconut products processing. The ride was in a comfortable vehicle. I will always remember the trip.

Unforgettable Day – History & Culture in One Trip !!

Visiting the Bridge over the River Kwai was such a powerful and moving experience. Standing on the historic bridge, learning about its significance during WWII, and walking through the museum really brought history to life. It was emotional, eye-opening, and something I’ll never forget. After that, we headed to one of the floating markets – and wow, what a contrast! It was vibrant, colorful, and full of energy. The food was delicious, the boats were packed with everything from tropical fruits to handmade goods, and the atmosphere was just so unique and fun. This day was the perfect mix of reflection and adventure. Yes it’s a long day but I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Thailand – five stars all the way!

Great itinerary/lazy guide

Pros: Our guide “A” arrived promptly with a luxury vehicle and driver(Gopp). We did visit all the sights on the itinerary. Cons: The guide did no guiding. He just said we are going here and we are going there. He slept during our two hour ride to the River Kwai and worked on upcoming reservations on the return. He even had the driver drop him off before us so he could go home. He did answer questions when asked but volunteered very little information about Thailand, Bangkok or insight into any of our stops. His comment was watch the video. A good tour guide is knowledgeable and willing to share said knowledge with his guests. Sadly that did not happen in this case. Perhaps Thailand doesn’t require their guides to be licensed??

A worth while day!!

Picked up at our hotel bang on time, comfortable transport, the guides had thought of everything, water, wipes, tissues, mints etc Felt safe and unrushed at every stop we made, the trip exceeded our expectations! First stop at the train market, time for a cuppa then onto the floating market, busy but we loved it!!! Then onto a coconut plantation another interesting experience no hard sell! Then the bridge over the river Qwai a MUST!!!

Floating River Market 1+hr outside of Bangkok

Loved going here, but you have to be prepared for the event! It costs a lot of money just to get IN… we weren’t told about that after our hour long journey from Bangkok to the location (withOUT traffic). But once you’ve made that journey you definitely feel compelled to pay it… Personally I loved it in there, however it wasn’t without its downfalls! The sales people can be slightly pushy in trying to get a sale, also the language barriers can be problematic. But there are plenty of foods, gifts, art, clothes and decor to buy. Some of the prices are escalated!!!! Try to convince your boat driver to bring you to the Temples to visit them, they’re definitely worth the visit… and along the way you’ll see beautiful homes along the water, and how the locals live (with a variety economic scale). We saw snakes and large lizards in the water, that the locals weren’t afraid of… I was terrified and excited! My personal suggestion… DO NOT support the elephant ride or seeing the lions. You pay for seeing animals not in the kindest living conditions. Instead use the sanctuary’s for that. But I LOVED my visit there and I would definitely recommend this to everyone… however be better than me, be prepared!!!!!
