Itinerary
Step back in time and take a wonderful look at Ireland’s rural history, heritage and lifestyle. Visitors will experience the culture, customs and living conditions of our great ancestors through the famine years, and late 19th century.
Sheepdog demonstrations on the Ring of Kerry! Watch the amazing skills demonstrated by Kells sheepdogs as they herd the Sheep in the Kerry countryside. A unique skill that is well worth viewing. * Optional (There is a separate charge for the demonstration - cash only.)
We travel through Caherciveen and as we are using a smaller coach we are able to drive on the spectacular 'Skellig Ring' on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean to stop at St Finian's Bay and Skellig Chocolates. This beautiful area offer uninterrupted and unrivalled views of the iconic Skellig islands.
We make a brief stop in the beautiful village of Waterville which is stunningly situated between the wild Atlantic Ocean and Lough Currane. Uniquely, this is the only village on the Ring of Kerry that is actually right on the coast. Enjoy a walk along the seafront or “Promenade” as the locals call it, where you can taste the salt water in the air.
After lunch we stop at Coomakishta, a mountain-high viewpoint overlooking the ocean, islands and rural landscapes of South Kerry.
Situated in the Killarney National Park, Ladies View is one of Ireland’s best-known and loved panoramas. Enjoy the magnificent view of the valleys, lakes and mountains, including the Black Valley, Upper and Lower Lakes and some of the Killarney National Park.
Pass by: Nature & Parks, National Parks
Our next stop is a short break in the colourful village of Sneem before we return to Killarney.

Great
Really good tour overall. Be prepared it’s a lot of driving with some quick photo stops mixed in though that is normal for a ring of Kerry tour. Driver/guide was great. One big key is the bus had 2 doors which on quick stops was actually important. But overall a really good ring tour.
One of our favorite tours!
Truly a fabulous tour! David was informative, engaging, funny, and kind. He shared a wealth of knowledge about the history, locations, and people all along the Ring of Kerry drive. His personal experiences in a number of the little towns along the way added to the richness of the tour experience. Our 3 young adult children said this was one of their favorite tours ever - high praise indeed!
Good but could be improved.
Nice scenic drive but felt a bit rushed. The driver was always saying we would hurry up to do this and that. He would also tell us about some landmark coming up but wouldn’t tell us which side of the bus to look out of! There really should be a guide giving I all the info instead of the driver. He was also using his phone while he was driving which I thought was poor. He was a good driver but that is not okay.
Kerry loop with the Skellig Ring
It was amazing, the tour guide Kevin knew loads about the area and best spots to take pictures, the sheepdog experience was quite interesting.
You get to see beautiful...
You get to see beautiful vistas. Kevin was extremely informative, (and, at times, funny). Loved the sheep dog demonstration. Dooley’s was an excellent lunch recommendations.
