Meeting Point: At the front door of the cafetería of hotel Claridge, next to the main door of the hotel. Plaza del Conde de Casal, 6, 28007 Madrid Closest Metro Station: Conde de Casal (Line 6) The use of cafeteria facilities is only allowed for their customers. Please, don't be late, the tour departs on time. Always estimate it will take you 10-20min longer than what maps say and plan your route to the meeting point the night before. It is possible to join the group at the first stop, but any additional cost to catch up is the responsibility of the client who did not arrive on time. You will be picked up in Madrid at 9:15am and depart towards Ribera del Duero. The Duero river, also known as the river of wine, is about 2 hours from Madrid and it is the home of tempranillo, the most famous Spanish grape variety (red wines with full body and lots of fruit).

You will do a full visit in the first winery, learning about winemaking in Ribera (riverside in Spanish), and understanding tempranillo wine from the grape to the bottle. Second Winery: The second winery we visit is in harmonious modernity with the environment; it is open to the vineyards. There will be free time to have lunch at your own choice (lunch is not included in tour price: we do not impose a menu). You can lunch in a traditional restaurant with several options of Castilian regional food ranging from tapas, a light lunch or a full 3-course lunch (approx. budget: tapas 12/15€, full 3-course 30€). Third winery: a medieval underground cellar, with a total length of about 4 mi and excavated about 40 ft deep (networks of incredible tunnels that run through the subsoil of the city and are intended for the preservation of wines that have been made since the Middle Age). Here, we will learn part of the history of the Ribera del Duero. Please note that this itinerary is an example only and may be subject to change.   • People with allergies or dietary restrictions are welcome, but they must inform us in advance. They may have less variety, but they will eat the same amount as the rest of the group.
