Never book RT
We had booked a RT Private Transfer from airport to our hotel in Iguazu falls. The pick up was awesome as Jose, our great and kind driver, was waiting for us with a sign right outside of baggage claim. The reason for the 2 star rating was because the day before our departure, the driver assigned to pick us up at from our hotel back to the airport informed us of a pick up time of 6:40am which first of all, was a bit too early for our flight and secondly, it would mean we wouldn’t be able to eat breakfast at our hotel. When I asked to be picked up at 7am, I was told that it was not possible as there were other passengers that needed to be picked up. I immediately responded by saying that we had booked a PRIVATE RT transfer and even screenshot the Viator booking stating that. The response I got was that they were not informed by the operating company that assigns the pick up with them. I immediately contacted the tour operator and finally got a response from the tour company apologizing for the mistake but stated that they would be doing a partial refund especially since the driver cancelled our pick up. It’s now been over 24h and I have not seen a refund on my account and will give them another week as I know these transactions can take time. We had to scramble and pay even higher fee for a last minute booking to the airport. Moral of the story is to never book RT and more importantly, check with your operator two days before and confirm what you purchased, especially if it’s a PRIVATE pick up! Had the driver not insisted on a pick up time of their choosing, we would not have even known that we were not getting what we paid for until day of pick up!
