Private Whiskey Tasting in a Dublin Pub

The Irish whiskey story is a fascinating one. Once the most popular whiskey in the world, Irish whiskey nearly vanished in the 1900s. Now , it's on fire around the world again and over 50 distilleries are making whiskey in Ireland today. In this fun tutored whiskey tasting, we offer a glimpse at the booming Irish whiskey industry with a 6-part sampling of small batch and hard-to-find Irish whiskeys, from the new distilleries. The tasting is delivered by Whiskey Specialist Host , and 2025 Icon of Whisky, John Callely. At our tastings we also show guests how to best enjoy whiskey and we ‘myth bust’ ... for instance – you can absolutely add water and ice to whiskey if you like. We also account for the differences between Scotch and Bourbon and Irish. This is a private tasting , for just you and your group, and the venue is 'the Snug' at McGrattans , a central Dublin pub.
