Itinerary
Start your tour with a pick up from your centrally located Amman Hotel. Relax into your private, air-conditioned vehicle with your knowledgeable English-Speaking Driver who doubles up as your guide, and travel south to Madaba, known for its exquisite Byzantine mosaics.
Arrive in Madaba and head inside Saint George’s Church with a local guide. This 19th-century Greek Orthodox basilica is home to the famous Madaba Mosaic Map, a 6th-century A.D. floor mosaic that depicts the ancient Holy Land and Jordan. Gaze at this masterpiece and its richly detailed renderings of Jerusalem, Jericho, the Dead Sea as well as other biblical sites as your guide explains how it was unearthed in 1897.
Proceed to the open-air museum known as the Archaeological Park, which houses a collection of ruins and mosaics like the Church of Virgin Mary, and other floor house mosaics.
Visit the historic Catholic Church of Saint John the Baptist, with its beautiful Bell Tower for a breath-taking view of Madaba. Visit its underground museum memorial of Saint John the Baptist. Having admired the mosaics and exploring this unique city side allies and markets,
drive to Mount Nebo, the hill where, according to the bible, was Moses last stop granting a view of the Holy Land. Take in the stunning views from the summit that extend over the Jordan Valley, and on a clear day, can stretch as far as Jericho and Jerusalem. Meet up with a local guide and go inside the excavated remains of the Byzantine church that once graced the hilltop. Here, archaeologists have uncovered a series of floor mosaics dating from between the 4th and 6th century A.D. Marvel at these intricate artworks with their still-vivid illustrations of peacocks, soldiers, horses, and hunters. After your visit of this marvelous Franciscan Monastery of Mount Nebo,
you may visit Mount Nebo La Storia Museum (entrance at your own expense). You will take an exciting journey through history to experience Jordan’s religious, historical, and cultural heritage. Visit the museum with largest mosaic portrait. Free time to explore a mosaic handicraft center, if you wish. Return to your vehicle and make the drive back to Amman. Your tour ends with a drop-off at your Amman hotel.

Traveler reviews
Superb day with a superb guide
Basel was my tour guide for my day tour of Mt. Nebo, Madaba and Jerash. He was punctual, he speaks excellent English, is very amiable and friendly, and very knowledgeable. Not only did he tell me about the historic sites we were visiting, but he also answered all my questions about Jordanian customs, culture, history, politics, religion, national exports, education in Jordan etc. Additionally, I had accidentally left my Jordan pass back at the hotel, and he went out of his way to try and accommodate my mistake by asking locals if we could email my pdf to their computer so we could print it out again. We were unable to do this despite several attempts, but the lengths he went to to try and fix MY problem were truly commendable, and way beyond the call of duty. I had a fantastic experience visiting these wonderful historic sites, and I HIGHLY recommend Basel to anyone wishing to do any tours of Jordan. Thanks Basel for a wonderful day, and for the truly fond memories of Jordanian hospitality you extended towards me.
Ask for Mahmoud
Of the 85 countries I've visited, I can say that Zaid Tours and in particular Mahmoud as your guide and driver are excellent. Mahmoud was very professional, very knowledgeable, and provided an amazing day tour experience to Madaba, Mount Nebo, and the Dead Sea from Amman.
Ask for Hasan
Our tour of Madaba and Mount Nebo was excellent! Our guide, Hasan Mahmoud, was the best and most knowledgeable guide we had on our visit to Jordan. If I had known about Hasan I would have booked all of my tours through his company and specified that he be our guide. Not only did he introduce us to the historical and archaeological sites, but he explained the significance of the sites for the time that they were built and also the role that they played through key times in history. One very important thing for me is that Hasan’s English is perfect. The best of any guide we experienced! That enabled me to hear him clearly while riding in the car as well as at the sites we visited. While we were on our tour, Hasan told us about the history and culture of modern Jordan, which really helped us appreciate the land and people around us! For lunch he took us to a restaurant where he was known because he and his family eat there. An added plus: Hasan drives a brand new air-conditioned car!
Mr Jebreen took my son to this site...

Mr Jebreen took my son to this site and my 15 year old son love it. What surprised my son was that he met his cousin from California upon arriving Mt. Nebo. I skipped this tour because I was not feeling well, but Mr. Bassam Jebreen really took care of my 15 year old son and my returned to our hotel with a big smile on his face.
