Itinerary
You will leave the hotel early in the morning to drive south to the Nabatean Red Rose City of Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, for a classic visit. As you travel, gaze at the desert landscapes and hear tales of Jordan’s history. Hewn into a sandstone valley carved by the Nabataean people more than 2,000 years ago, this ancient rose-red rock city located 245 kilometers from Amman at the crossroads of age-old trading routes, to dominate ancient Arabia. Reach Petra’s main site to learn more about its magnificent history. On arrival, leave your vehicle, and enjoy a 2-hour tour of this UNESCO Heritage listed wonder with a local guide.
First, walk through the famous “Siq”, a narrow path of 1.2 kilometers; rock fissure that was once the main entrance to the city, and marvel at your first glimpse of the hauntingly beautiful Treasury “El - Khazneh”
As the canyon suddenly opens up. Admire this rose-pink masterpiece, originally built to house priceless treasures and capture it on camera. Then, walk through the widening canyon to witness other monuments such as the 3,000-seater Theater, the Royal Tombs, and the Byzantine Church. As you explore, listen as your guide describes how the Nabateans sculpted the buildings, and learn how they mastered the harsh desert conditions to make their lives here. After around two hours of exploring, enjoy free time. If time permits you can climb up the Monastery on your own or the High Place of Sacrifice: a clifftop altar that was once used for animal sacrifices and other ceremonies. Free time to visit The Petra Museum; if there is time, then rejoin your vehicle and driver.
Continue to discover the delights of the Dead Sea. Travel the desert landscapes to the eastern shores of Sowayma. Visit a water’s edge private beach and enjoy free time to swim in the Dead Sea’s waters; lounge on the beach and absorb the beautiful setting never found elsewhere. Alternatively, you can upgrade your tour to a hotel entry with a wider range of facilities, including several outdoor swimming pools, and a stylish spa offering Dead Sea Mud Treatments with revitalizing body scrubs and massages, at client’s own expense. Return to Amman for a hotel drop off.

Traveler reviews
Hospitability, all-around nice people and a big doses of culture and knowledge.
Mazen, the driver, acted as a great guide. His English was good, fluent and not only commented on every single aspect he could possibly come up with, but he also was easygoing enough to have deep conversations about historic aspects of Jordan in general, and the places in particular. We are unhappy about the low availability of tour guides in Spanish. We couldn't start our tour on time, but Mazen was happy to fill in with short show-arounds we wouldn't otherwise have experienced. From herbs, to Ottoman empire fortresses, to local fauna, biblical stories, you name it. He is the kind of guy you want to get a first impression of the country he is representative of. Later on, we had a fun, knowledgeable and fluent fuide in Spanish. It was too bad that it took longer than we would have liked before starting our tour. The only problem was not his Spanish, but the pronunciation of his vowels that made it harder for us to grasp, other than that, he was perfect even showing some photograph skills that came to be phenomenal when we checked them latwr on. Good way to hit the highlights
Everyone will tell you 3 hours in Petra isn’t enough time—and it isn’t. But we had very limited time in Amman, so it worked for what we had. Definitely only going to see the highlights of Petra, but it was 90° that day, so we were okay with it. Our guide at Petra was amazing—he knew we only had a few hours so he made sure we got in as much as we could. The Dead Sea was amazing—once in a lifetime experience. Our driver, Basel, was fantastic—kind and knowledgeable. Definitely a very safe, careful driver. He was really helpful and made the day easy. If you have limited time in Jordan, this is a good way to cram in the highlights!
Wonder trip.
The tour arrangements good. Guide and the car good. As per tour plan everything ok. The tour guide from Petra not so good.
