Seamless & Unforgettable Morocco Day Trip with an Exceptional Guide
Our experience with Naturanda Turismo was absolutely fantastic, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Alvaro. He drove our private group of seven (ages 6 to 42) from Seville to Tarifa for our ferry to Morocco, and from the very beginning, he made the journey enjoyable and stress-free. During the 2½-hour drive, Alvaro was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing insights about the cities we passed through and explaining their history and what they're known for. It really added depth to the trip and kept everyone engaged. He was also very thoughtful—he kindly offered restroom stops along the way and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. As we approached Tarifa, Alvaro went the extra mile by passing by a historical site so we could get a closer look, which was a nice unexpected touch. We even had time to stop at a local coffee shop before heading to the ferry. Before we boarded, he gave us clear and detailed instructions about what to expect—how to meet the representative at the Morocco port, the timing we needed to follow to catch our return ferry, and what the process would look like. He also explained that we would be given green stickers so our tour guide could easily recognize us upon arrival in Morocco. Additionally, he reassured us that he would be waiting in Tarifa for our return and would be just a phone call away if we needed anything. I initially had some concerns about doing a day trip to Morocco and feeling rushed, but Alvaro completely put those worries at ease. He assured us that we wouldn't feel rushed and that their team would handle all the logistics so we could simply enjoy the experience—and that's exactly how it felt. The ferry ride itself was smooth and not too crowded, allowing us to move around and enjoy the journey. One important tip: make sure to fill out your entry form for Morocco while on the ferry—otherwise, border patrol may send you back to complete it. Once we arrived, our local guide (Muneer—apologies if I misspelled it) was waiting for us inside and recognized us right away by the green stickers we were wearing. We quickly got into our van and began our adventure. Both our guide and driver in Morocco were patient, friendly, and welcoming. Every person we encountered made us feel at ease. Our return journey was also smooth, although once entering Tarifa, the line to get back into Spain was longer than expected. Despite this, Alvaro was patiently waiting for us right where he said he would be and called us to. make sure we were ok. On the drive back, he asked us all about our experience, and we were able to share our favorite moments with him—it truly felt like he was sincerely excited for us. He also took the time to connect with my son, who lives in Spain. They talked about futbol and Alvaro even gave him additional recommendations, which was such an added bonus and a very thoughtful touch. My husband and I were truly in awe of the experience, and our children (ages 6, 11, 17, and 20) loved every moment. My cousin also accompanied us, and in her words, it was a magical trip. Our only regret is not staying longer! We will absolutely be back—next time for the 4-day package.
An absolute Disaster - worst travel experience!
The trip on March 19 was extremely poorly organized. We spent far more time on transportation than on sightseeing. We are a family of four (two adults and two children, ages 13 and 10). The cost of this one-day trip was over €736, which is completely unjustified given the experience. We departed Seville on time in the morning. During the 2.5-hour bus ride, the tour guide did not provide any information or commentary at all—she only took photos of our passports (later in the trip, she claimed she is only an intern and just notified by the company to take us to the Tarifa port). Upon arrival at the port in Tarifa, we were informed that we had missed the 11:00 a.m. ferry and had to wait for the next one. As a result, we did not arrive in Tangier until around 1:00 p.m. The trip description on Naturanda’s website is highly exaggerated and misleading. The camel ride, in particular, was disturbing—the camels looked unhealthy and smelled terrible. I would not recommend this experience to anyone. Lunch was one of the worst parts of the trip. We were expecting an authentic Moroccan meal, but it was extremely disappointing. The soup was only a few sips, the chicken skewer was dry and flavorless, and the couscous—Morocco’s national dish—was tasteless. To make matters worse, one plate of couscous had to be shared with other group members (complete strangers), which made us very uncomfortable. The restaurant staff also behaved unprofessionally and felt like scammers. They attempted to charge us for mint tea (also only a few sips), which the tour guide had explicitly said was free. We were still hungry afterward and had to order pizza from a nearby café. The worst experience was the return trip to Spain. The Moroccan tour guide told us that the ferry from Tangier Ville was canceled and that we had to go to Tangier Med instead. He said that hopefully there would be a ferry available. We were had to take a 40-minute bus ride to Tangier Med. At the port, we waited 3–4 hours to board the ferry, followed by another 2 hours before departure. There was no food or drinking water available, and it was very cold. This was an extremely stressful situation, especially with two minors. At that moment, I deeply regretted bringing my children on this trip. We finally arrived in Algeciras at 2:00 a.m. the NEXT DAY, in heavy rain. The Naturanda van did not even come to the exit to pick us up. We were exhausted and frustrated. It then took another 2.5 hours to return to Seville. We ARRIVED SEVILLE at 5 AM in the morning!!! In summary: 1. The trip was poorly organized and lacked basic communication. No one kept us informed, and no one apologized for the inconvenience. 2. The situation felt unsafe. If there had been no ferry, we could have been stranded in Morocco overnight with two children. 3. The trip completely ruined the following day due to exhaustion. 4. Zero value for money I would never recommend this tour company to anyone!!!
11/10 loved!
