Kulen mountain and waterfall

Amazing tour where I could learn more about khemer civilization and also enjoy beautiful landscapes. The guide had a lot of knowledge and answered all the questions besides taking pictures making the journey more fun

After Angkor Wat, Kulen Waterfalls is the next big highlight for us in Siem Reap

The highlight was Kulen waterfalls - beautiful and more importantly you can have the most amazing experience taking a dip at the waterfall itself. The water is clean and refreshing. After a bath there, you don't feel any kind of irritation on your skin. The natural pool under the waterfalls is mostly flat and has sand. It is easy to get into the pool. In some places the water level gets up to your face so for non-swimmers it can be tricky. Getting right under the waterfalls is easy if you are adventurous as you have to swim to reach the rocks under the water falls. There are lots of facilities there for a charge (sitting area for people who don't want to get into the water), changing rooms, soft drinks and beer. But, all for a charge, yet very convenient. It can get a bit crowded as the deck next to the waterfalls is not so big. Yet, the overall experience is amazing. This is a must visit experience in Siem Reap. For Kulen Waterfalls, you were expected to carry towels and a change with you. The other highlight was the pleasurable interaction with this tour operator. From the day I got in touch with them, there response time was amazing. I was interested in a private tour with our own car, driver and guide. And they immediately understood the requirement and gave me a quote in the fastest time. We were 4 adults and this tour costed us USD 65 per person all inclusive (including lunch). In the itinerary (in sequence) was - 1. Kulen Mountain Cliff viewpoint, 2. River of 1000 Lingas, 3. The reclining buddha at Preah Ang Thom temple, 5. Lunch at a place next to the waterfall and then finally 5. Kulen Waterfalls. We started at 8.30 am in the morning and returned by 4 pm. It takes 1.5-2 hours to reach Kulen Waterfalls from Siem Reap city. Out of all the points, best were River of 1000 Lingas and Kulen Waterfalls. Rest can be skipped. Specially the cliff viewpoint which we found quite useless. Also, it can be quite dangerous as tourists unknowingly get very adventurous to get photographs clicked on rocks overlooking the cliff. Very dangerous and get a feeling that there can be an accident anytime there. The authorities should do something about this place and make certain rocks inaccessible by cordoning them off. The River of 1000 Lingas was very impressive specially the natural spring which has water coming out during months of August to April. For the first time I saw a natural spring which as bubbling salt under from where the water comes out. It is supposed to be holy water which falls into the river. The river itself is a man made river made centuries ago with carvings of Lingas, Vishnu + Lakhsmi and then Brahma. Fascinating. The lunch was a full set lunch with spring rolls, chicken amok and rice and then fruit platter. The quality was decent but the quantity was huge. This was at a restaurant on top of the waterfall which was owned by a family. All through the itinerary they have WCs everywhere. Please carry change in Rial because many of the WCs have a donation box and you are expected to make some contribution. About our guide (Mr. John) and driver (Mr. Rak). Both were very helpful and made our tour memorable. Special thanks to John who helped in taking us to an ATM for cash withdrawal and then further taking us to a center which gave change for 100$ in 10$ notes. They carried with them water and cool face packs in an icebox. John was very knowledgeable and not only briefed us about everything but also was able to answer so many generic questions I asked him about Cambodia. But, I do have a suggestion for him. He is very talkative but sometimes we wanted to rest and sleep in the car, but he wouldn't stop talking. The other suggestion I have for him, that sometimes we wanted to sit in some place and absorb the moment, but he would insist on continuing with the tour. But, these are small matters as both John and Rak were very nice and wonderful people. That's the best part of Cambodia. Everywhere you go you will come across nice, genuine and thankful people who are simply grateful that you visit their country as tourists/guests. Must also mention that John and Rak were there to pick us up at 8 am, much before out appointed 8.30 am pick up from the hotel. I will strongly recommend this tour operator. For sure I will use this operator exclusively for any of my future visits. Btw, I got in touch with them after coming across them on Google search. Firstly there ratings were amazing and they seem to have more experience with the Kulen Waterfalls tour than other operators. But, now having experienced them, I would use them for all other possible tours.

Varied experiences in One day!

Guide Ry Cheng and Sophom are wonderful! Bought us wild bananas which were the sweetest ever. Driver Sophom told shopkeeper to give us reasonable price for the rattan baskets so that I would buy more to benefit the people who made them. Got to enjoy the weather of Siem Riep with heavy downpour that happened at perfect timing when we were under shelter with Sleeping Buddha. Ry Cheng takes the perfect picture at the view point! Brought us to a market - Made in Cambodia and got to meet special artisans!
