Itinerary
On this half day tour you will learn a lot about the fascinating history of South Africa during a Pretoria city experience. Pretoria is the capital of South Africa and therefore full of historic sites.
A major attraction on this tour is the Voortrekker Monument. This monument is of great significance to many Afrikaans speaking South Africans, there it stands for Afrikaner Nationalism. The monument is in the shape of a big stone cube. The interior walls depict the story of the Great Trek, a mass movement of Afrikaaner Boers who resented British rule.
Pretoria has character in its buildings and during this city architecture tour you will be given ample opportunity to ask your guide about the history behind the buildings and culture. We visit Church Square with prominent buildings like the Ou Raadsaal, Palace of Justice and Capital Theatre.
Next interesting site on our tour is the Paul Kruger House Museum. Kruger National Park is named after Paul Kruger. Learn more about this fascinating man and his life. The house displays furniture and personal items of the Kruger family.
We visit the Union Buildings, headquarters of the government. The buildings are beautifully situated in terraced gardens, trough which you can enjoy an idyllic walk.

Excellent Day in Pretoria
I had a wonderful tour of the city of Pretoria with my tour guide Cypo. He was pleasant. He arrived on time and was a great driver. He was very knowledgeable about the history of South Africa and about the sites in Pretoria. During my tour, I visited places like Paul Kruger‘s home, the Voortrekker monument, the Church Square, and other government monuments. I would definitely recommend this tour to my friends and family.
Amazing day!!
Tshepo was an excellent guide for our Pretoria tour. His knowledge of history and culture made the trip both informative and engaging. It was a great experience and a true cultural immersion. Highly recommended!
Couldn’t have asked for a better guide
Excellent first introduction to the history of South Africa, and although the tour was focused on the history of the Boers, our guide (Lebo) explained this in the context of other prominent groups at the time.
Fascinating tour of an active diamond mine.
Loved this tour. Our guide was really informative and friendly. Seeing the old and new processing plants and the Big Hole, where the famous Culinan Diamond was found was amazing. Whilst mining isn’t the most eco friendly of activities, approx 80% of the diamonds found are for industry, so are key. They are also able to reprocess 1000’s tonnes of previously mined earth which modern technology can extract mostly industrial diamonds from. The visit to the shop after the tour was also extremely informative. Highly recommend this tour.
Our visit to Pretoria
