Khufu's pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman; diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been found but the site has not been excavated the area ticket is included but inside any of the pyramids are not included
Menkaure's pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king's pyramid. The valley temple once contained several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added on to the valley temple
Khafre's pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple and the king's pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre. Several were found in a well in the floor of the temple by Mariette in 1860
The Great Sphinx lies on the east side of the complex. Current consensus among Egyptologists is that the head of the Great Sphinx is that of Khafre. Layover tour to pyramids, Egyptian museum, old Cairo and dinner cruise
Had an amazing day with guide Ayman Gabry and driver Hamda. They were waiting at the airport at 5:30am and we went right to the pyramids. It was almost completely empty which was great. Ayman was a wealth of knowledge and great photographer. Had a great camel ride as well. We went through the Egyptian museum and highly recommend the mummy room. Had a great lunch at Onion Rings. Then we toured through old Cairo and saw the hanging church, the cavern church and a synogogue. Finally since I had time to kill before my flight, they took me on a dinner cruise which was not prebooked and they stayed on a few hours after my original booking time. Great day and great city!
Very good day with ehab
