Itinerary
Visting the campus. If you want to visit the Old Library and Book of Kells, please book our 5hr tour '(Nearly!) All of Dublin in 5 hours'. Access to the campus is limited to groups of 8 or fewer unless tickets for the Old Library are purchased in advance (these are Trinity's rules).
Stroll the cobbled streets of the famous Temple Bar area. Your guide will show you the real local spots (street art, bohemian shops) and hidden gems of what is a overty touristy area.
We will explore the grounds of Dublin Castle (upper and lower courtyards, Chapel Royal, Dubh Linn Gardens) without needing to explore any interiors, which can only be availed of through an official Dublin Castle tour
Visting the outside only. Christ Church Cathedral or/and St Patrick's Cathedral Although a wooden church was built here in ca. 1030, and there was likely a pagan shrine before that, Christchurch as a stone structure began in the 1180s and has been restored and changed numerous times since. The neo-gothic architecture makes Christchurch, arguably, Dublin's most beautiful complex. The vast crypt underneath the cathedral deserves particular attention for its size, interesting curious and the fact that it hosted a pub, distillery and... brothel (!) in the 18th century.
Cross the famous Ha'Penny Bridge, one of Dublin's icons. Take look up the river towards the Guinness Brewery (maybe you'll detect the aroma of hops boiling) or down the river towards the Custom House and the modern Docklands area. Or simply stop to observe the lovers' locks.
Leinster House
St. Stephen's Green
See Ireland's main thoroughfare and one of the widest streets in Europe. Admire The Spire, the GPO (where the 1916 Rising began), and learn about Ireland's Marthin Luther King Jnr, Daniel O'Connell
One of the key locations of 1916 Easter Rising and an example of Dublin's 18th century architecture. We can enter the building as long as there is not a private event occuring.

Dublin Delight
We arrived in Dublin after a sleepless redeye flight and weren’t how we would make it through a tour of the city, but that is before we met Conor!A delightful of energy, we were immediately uplifted by the sights and history of Dublin and Ireland in general, complete with Conor serenading us with tradition Irish songs and poetry! We had a ball. Highly recommend this group, and if you can, ask for Conor!!
An Unforgettable Dublin Experience
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with John! From the moment we met him, he was warm, funny, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making our day special. His knowledge of Dublin's history and architecture was amazing, and he brought everything to life with stories and humor that kept us engaged the entire time. What really set him apart, though, was how personal the experience became. He went above and beyond to help us look into some of my family's Irish ancestry, took time to sit and chat with us over a drink, and made us feel more like friends than tourists. He was attentive to every detail—from helping us find restrooms when we needed them to making sure everything went smoothly throughout the tour. His kindness and generosity made an already fantastic walking tour unforgettable. If you're looking for someone who is passionate about Dublin, full of fascinating information, and truly cares about the people he meets, we can't recommend John Caffrey highly enough. We would absolutely book another tour with him the next time we're in Ireland!
A brilliant walking tour with the perfect guide
We absolutely loved our walking tour with Conor Hegarty. He planned a perfect route and included stops for our kids, including playgrounds and ice cream! We enjoyed learning more about the history of Ireland and listening to Conor’s stories and songs. He introduced us to some locals and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and other places to visit. And at the end, Conor sent us the photos he had taken of us along with the route that we walked so we would remember all the details. The tour was the perfect way to immerse ourselves in the culture of Dublin.
Great morning in Dublin!
Absolutely a must do tour! John was absolutely amazing! So knowledgeable, easy going. He knew an incredible amount of information about every spot we visited, and was very organized and made the most of our time. We also booked the photographer option and James was so great to have along! An awesome way to spend a morning in Dublin!
