Full description

After hotel pick up, drive to Naples to meet your guide. Head to Pompeii to explore the excavated city in its entirety and sneak in and observe the lives of the inhabitants in the days just before the catastrophe. See various temples and have a glimpse into what life was like before the famous eruption of Vesuvius, and stop to discover the forum and basilica of Pompeii. The second part of the tour will take place in the galleries of the Archeological Museum of Naples. Discover the frescoes, statues, handcrafts, and jewels that had remained for centuries under the lava, brought to light during the excavations. Uncover a dozen perfectly preserved mosaics and restore to the deserted spaces you have visited in Pompeii. Finish your tour with a visit to the Secret Cabinet, which contains all the objects with an erotic subject matter, often decisively unhindered with explicit representations of truly acrobatic love. Considered scandalous and hidden away after discovery, the objects are now available to be viewed.

We absolutely loved our tour of the Uffizi! Our guide, Ilaria, really brought the museum to life for us. With her depth of knowledge, she gave us so much insight, background, and fascinating facts about the art, the artists and the history of not only the museum, but of Florence as a whole. We used Through Eternity for guided tours of the Vatican and the Colosseum/Roman forum. The day before our Colosseum tour, we were notified that they were canceling the tour due to “circumstances outside of their control”. They did offer a 30% off discount from the price we paid for the tour package which seemed really low considering it was essentially the price of the Colosseum tickets that we ended up having to buy separately.
