Itinerary
After pickup from your hotel or the Naples train station, take a 30-minute drive to Pompeii, an ancient Roman city that was entirely destroyed by the sudden eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD. The largest archaeological site in Europe, today Pompeii is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. When you arrive, your guide will pick up your group’s pre-ordered tickets and lead you on a 2-hour walking tour of the fascinating grounds. Witness the destruction first-hand as you visit Pompeii’s most famous sites, including the Forum, the Thermal Baths, Vetti's House and the Lupanare brothel, giving you a glimpse into daily life during the Pax Romana. Today you can see shapes of objects — even bodies — that were buried beneath the volcanic ash and pumice.
After your tour, enjoy a pizza lunch with your group followed by some free time to browse the shops. Then board the coach and drive 40 minutes to legendary Mt Vesuvius. Embark on a moderate hike up the volcano with your guide. When you reach the summit at 3,900 feet (1,200 meters), you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the picturesque Bay of Naples from east to west. Peer down into the crater and see plumes of steam issuing from the sleeping, but still active, volcano! There is a rest point where you can choose to wait for your group if you do not wish to climb all the way to the top, but the hike is worth the effort. After your Mt Vesuvius hike, relax on the drive back to Naples in the early evening.

Unfortunately, a shambles
The experiences themselves were actually amazing and we loved them both. The other positive was our guide around Pompeii who was interesting and informative. On the down side; the pickup was late, we arrived at Pompeii late, the organisation in getting the group together and fitted with head sets took forever, the tour started and ended late, we were late to lunch which then took forever to be served. At this point some of our group who had a deadline to get back to their cruise ship asked the guide to move things along as they were getting increasingly likely to miss their boat. She seemed unconcerned and did not hurry things along but casually finished her meal before slowly rounding up the group. When we finally arrived at Mount Vesuvius she still did not seem to care and, as a result, we left far later than we should and suffered a breakneck ride back into town so our fellow travellers could just get to their boat in time. We jumped out at this point as we had had enough and were already over an hour later than scheduled. Overall, disorganised, disinterested and inconsiderate. We highly recommend these wonderful experiences, just not with this company.
Very organized and informative
Very organized, informative, and got us back to the cruise ship when promised (was only running 30 minutes behind after all stops but still organized a separate van for 7 passengers from Mt. Vesuvius at end of day to arrive at our cruise ship one hour before departure). Highly recommended.
Needs better bus
A lot of walking in the sun with few breaks. If you're a slow walker (like my wife and I), you miss out on a lot of the commentary as the guide rushes ahead out of Bluetooth range. Not a lot of sitting/resting opportunities but that's Pompeii! Pizza stop was most welcome! Us used for transport was cramped and tiny with small leg room, not suitable when filled with adults.
Memorable Pompeii experience
The Pompeii tour was amazing! Our guide (Aliza?) was extremely knowledgeable and was very engaging with the tour. The headset worked very well and it was easy to hear her even from the back of the group. I definitely would recommend a tour with her for Pompeii. The downside: the second part of our trip was a lunch and then Mt Vesuvius. The climb was great and the view was amazing, I would recommend it! However it was a 1.5h wait to get the lunch since we were a very large group. I also wish we would have done the climb first as it wasn't as pleasant Ona heavy stomach.
Wonderful day
Going through Pompeii ruins were wonderful and our tour guide was great… very knowledgeable and went at a nice pace and made sure everyone had time for pictures.
