Traveler reviews
Equipment was poor - couldn’t hear
The guide was okay, but the equipment was very poor so we couldn’t hear what she was saying. For the earphones to work, you need to be sitting 5 feet and we were 15 people so naturally couldn’t all be nearby. Otherwise, we just heard beeping. Our group decided to not use headphones, couldn’t hear, so just looked around. Many others had the same issue but there wasn’t anything the guide could do to fix it besides saying “come close”. We paid a lot for the tour to have it go to waste.
Brilliant: an Archeologist is the only way to go
Our Antonella was excellent: happy to answer our questions, gave us lots of information we wouldn't have got from a guide book. The tour was interesting, informative and fun. We really did learn an awful lot. Thank you
Pompei tour
Chaotic at meeting point, there were no represensitives at meeting place till after alloted time. We were advised to get there early !! It transpired that the first Sunday of every month is free to enter, we had paid. Also we were thought that prebooking meant not we did not have to join the queue, it transpired this was not the case . Fortunately out guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining, making the tour worthwhile.
Great entertaining tour of Pompeii
We had a great tour. Ciro was a true raconteur who really brought Pompeii to life with historical facts and juicy anecdotes. Perfect to keep both adults and kids entertained and forget the heat!
False Information
I have studied Ancient Rome and Pompéi extensively. Our tour guide got the majority of the facts wrong. The guide herself did well articulating her script, but the information was incorrect. Some ideas (mostly in the house) were correct, but the terminology was wrong. Disappointed.
