Itinerary

1

Plitvice are known as a natural phenomenon because they keep changing through sedimentation of calcium carbonate and create special kinds of algae and moss, tufa or travertine which has been deposited and is still deposited to form the natural dams that separate the lakes. Since the process is ongoing today, just as it always has, new travertine barriers, curtains, stalactites, channels, and cascades are built as the existing ones keep changing. So it doesn’t matter if you have visited the lakes before, they probably look different now, so you can visit them again and never be bored. Besides the lakes, there are some interesting caves in which remains of prehistoric settlements have been found.

A fantastic trip to Plitvice!

What looks like a long tour was extremely enjoyable thanks to Lovro and Marco! Both made the long journey and the tour amusing and comfortable. We had transfers and entry for the park included and everything ran seamlessly!

A great experience

We added this excursion during our stay at the recommendation of a couple travelers we met in Split. Lovro (Larry) was very fun/funny and made the trip that much more enjoyable! The park is beautiful! Definitely recommend this tour.

A good day

It was an amazing experience, Lerov made sure we were always laughing and enjoying the trip. It was a 12 hour trip but it was totally worth it.

A disappointing guides tour without a guide

We were disappointed by the tour guide’s ability to handle unexpected events. The train system at the Plitvice Lakes National Park broke down during our visit. Our guide Richard failed to provide the tour group sufficient instructions (e.g. a picture of a map with modified directions) to navigate in case the group breaks up. We were left behind because the tour group was split between two ferries, and he did not touch base to ensure everyone was accounted for until we reached out as we were unclear which way we should go to stay on time. We basically paid for a guided tour and went on without a guide.

Luka was a great guide....

Luka was a great guide. Luke shared lots of interesting info about Croatia and made sure our group knew exactly where to go and when. The lakes and waterfalls are incredible, so beautiful! Endless views photo worthy views. The bus was comfortable and the rest stops were appreciated. Lots of walking, mostly at your own pace, but still something to keep in mind if you have limited mobility.
