Traveler reviews
M.I.A. in the Plivitce Lakes
It was a Great experience, Mia Is an excelent Guide, I had a wonderfull Time. The schedule was respected throgh the day and we got to see the entire park. The facts about the climate and geography were Great, but I would have liked More facts about the park (flora and fauna) or even polítics data about Croatia Is very interesting. Overall, I had a magnificent Time and the park Is amazing, a true treasure of nature. You can tell the experience Mia has, especially figuring out alternative routes in the park to avoid the inmenses bout and train lines.
Worth the trip
Such a great tour and staff. The lakes are simply stunning and well worth the trip. Mia our guide was so friendly, informative and engaging. She explained everything clearly and had our best interests and our experience at the forefront. Her ability to modify multiple times due to long queues for the train and boat meant we had more time to enjoy than waiting around. She checked in to ensure we could understand, hear her and that we were not too cold or hot on the bus. Drago did an amazing job driving with high winds and busy traffic.
Excellent excursion and well worth the long day
Really enjoyed the day and we had perfect weather. The park was truly stunning. Mia was an excellent guide - one of the best we've ever had on similar trips. She navigated us superbly through the park on a day when the visitor numbers were at capacity, ensuring we didn't get stuck unnecessarily waiting in queues. A little more time during the day to soak up the amazing views would have been ideal but was also challenging due to the transit time from Split and large numbers of people. Drago was also excellent as our driver. Only negative to the day was the meeting point instructions in the morning which should have been clearer as to where exactly it was. But the actual excursion was excellent and very smoothly run.
A lovely visit to Plitvice
Me and my family’s experience at the Plitvice National Park was great. What really made a difference, aside from the earth-shattering views, was that Mia is a fantastic tour guide. She really cares about the place, has lived here forever and is really invested in getting everyone to see as much of the park as humanly possible, while enjoying and not wasting any time. Keep in mind that this is not a very accessible park, but there were a few wheelchair users in some trails. Be ready to walk and climb stairs a plenty. It is also pretty crowded in the summer and rainy seasons, which might not help either. The place is super dog friendly, which could be a pro or a con depending on your preferences. The park ticket is hardly ever included if you book a tour. It is not incredibly pricey, but do make use of the student and other discounts. All that being said, we had no issues and enjoyed the day trip immensely.
Wonderful natural park, very well organized and guided.
Excellent treatment from the guide Mia, providing us with all kinds of information, even assisting us in Spanish.
