Traveler reviews
Cute Pigs not worth the effort.
We gave this trip such a low score as kayaking was mentioned in title of trip but there was no kayaking. There is very little to do on Pig Island other than watch the cute pigs. The crew took our shoes before we left the harbour which was an issue on Pig Island as sand is full of shells and felt like walking on gravel so not pleasant to wander around. The positives were the lunch was nice, the pigs were cute, the bus transfer and boat were very clean and on time.
Petting zoo of pigs and piglets
Fun outing. Basic snorkeling and then a few relaxing hours on Pig Island, with a good lunch included. Despite what I’ve seen posted online, these pigs are not starving or mistreated. This is essentially a petting zoo with pigs and many cute little piglets. Everyone was well behaved, pigs, piglets, dogs, and people alike. And the vast white beaches were quite clean. I enjoyed this. Slightly chaotic in the morning as the different shuttles collected all the tourists, but the rides home were very well organized.
Misleading advertisement/marketing regarding friendly pigs
We had a funfull morning with the pigs feeding them pellets bought on the island. All the tourists were feeding the pigs as they were advertised as friendly pigs. Not turning out as a good experience. A pig attacked/bited us. The Hospital of Bangkok advised us that they see people on a daily basis . 14 800 baht later, per person, multiple injections for (tetnis and rabies )
Beautiful excursion
Was a nice trip also the guide was great (Two was very nice and tried). Snorkeling was also good, with few different fish.
Overcomplicated start, but great trip
We got picked up at our hotel at 7:30 in the morning and drove for half an hour to the north east of Koh Samui. There, at the harbour we had to wait for 45 minutes and then proceeded to drive all the way back to our hotel (which we passed at around 9:20) and then a little further to the southern harbour, where we then again had to wait a few minutes. For us this was rather unnecessary stress and a time waste. As we had to get up much earlier than needed and also missed breakfast. We took off around 10:00 at the southern harbour and arrived after 15 minutes at the first destination where we could snorkel and see a lot of fish and corals. We stayed there until 11:00 and proceeded onto Pig Island. There we had time until 14:00 to eat (a rather tasty) lunch, go kayaking, and of course feed the pigs. Overall, the trip and the people were really nice but the start was just badly organised.
