So Disappointed!
Not what I expected at all. The boat was full. 36 people. Only 4 allowed to sit in front area and the same 4 hogged it the whole trip. Windows coloured and seating low so could not see anything until you arrived at your destination. Loads of other boats doing same route so you same with at least 150 other people. Talk about scaring the fish!! Maya Beach was beautiful after the frog march onto and off the island and the guard on the beach blowing his whistle and yelling through megaphone to keep out of the water. As for the final island that we stopped at for fruit etc. DREADFUL. Dirty, rubbish everywhere, small polluted by boat oil area to swim in. Neglected cats everywhere. To say I hated the trip is an understatement. The only good part, Dino and his staff. Very helpful and friendly. Would I recommend, sorry NO.
Bad experience, they fill...
Bad experience, they very much fill the boat They do not have enough vests, back from phi phi I play bad weather and the boat with so many people and without protocols is worrying. Positive the tour guide quite friendly at all times. But if it's important to have protocols
Total Chaos!!
If I could give this experience zero stars, I would. The photos on the website are vastly different from reality. We were switched to a different tour than the one we signed up for and packed onto a boat with 30 other people. We were told the it was “an upgrade” but I think they miscalculated the number of passengers on the trip we signed up for so they stuck us on a trip with a larger group. Every site was packed with tour boats and if you wanted to get closer to see the sites, you had to pay an additional 400 Bhat per person to get on a Longboat to take you. (If you opted not to take the Longboat, you sat on the Speedboat for 45 minutes while the longboat passengers went through the narrow passage to see the sites.) The boat congestion was worse than New York City rush hour. There is no visibility from inside the “speedboat”. The windows were high enough to prevent any viewing of the scenery but they did allow us to be drenched by ocean spray on the way out and back. One tour operator spoke Spanish and one had very broken English. At our last stop, there were 3-4 foot waves. Our boat collided with another boat as we anchored. We were told we could swim if we wore life jackets. As a life long boater, I can say that the conditions were too rough and dangerous and that island should have been skipped. We did not see any monkeys on Monkey Island and we were told that they “must be on the other side of the island today.” And for the finale-when we were picked up in a van in the morning at our hotel, we had a 25 minute boat ride to the marine. However, on our return, we were driven around Phuket for two hours before finally threatening to leave the van to find a taxi to make our way home. I have used Viatour for years and have never had a bad experience but yesterday was AWFUL!!! So disorganized and disappointing.
