Choose a tour on a smaller boat if you want to be able to get close enough to the sights listed in the tour description…

It was basically ferry transport and lunch, with another tour group on board the old ferry (which looked little like the photos in the ad, btw). There were a few workers on board but little to no explanation was given about the area, only start and return times at the two locations we did stop at. The guide for the other group seemed to be more engaged with his guests. We didn’t know who our guide was supposed to be as this was not pointed out. We couldn’t really see any of the sights mentioned the cruise passes by - maya, phi phi le, monkey beach etc as the ferry cruises by full speed at a far distance. We kind of guessed what we were seeing. Bring binoculars for a glimpse. There are tons of smaller speed boats and long tail Thai boats between the ferry and the shore- like a parking lot - so that’s why the ferry can’t get too close. It was a little shocking to see so many boats and people packed in the area and was disappointing to see some garbage in the water. We were transferred to a smaller boat to unload for beach time at phi phi don (we think) and lunch. We had the option of taking a long tail boat to another location closer to a reef for snorkeling with a park fee of $400 bht, but decided to stay and snorkel at the beach we were at as it was less crowded. The water was petty and blue and we saw a few fish. Lunch buffet was better than expected. We were then taken (by 2 smaller boat) to Phi Phi town (very crowded) for shopping but really didn’t have much time for this and had to walk back to the ferry after about 30 mins. There were snacks provided on the trip back (watermelon/muffins) Back at the Phuket port, there was a lot of confusion about which taxi driver would be transporting which guests back to their hotels. It was bizarre. I don’t know why this couldn’t have been decided during the long ferry back to the port. Opinion - this “tour” would be best for someone who doesn’t really need/want explanation of what’s being seen, or doesn’t care to stop for swimming, etc, and only wants to go to PhiPhi Don island for lunch and a quick shop Not suited for mobility challenged guests. *TLDR* -old ferry, just 2 stops, no real guidance -don’t see much of anything as you cruise past on ferry at far distance -crowded -lunch was pretty good -if you want to see the places mentioned they cruise by (Maya Bay, monkey beach, etc) you won’t see much as they cruise by from a far distance. -staff friendly -I wouldn’t recommended for people who have mobility challenges
