Itinerary
Pass by: The tour will start in the city of El Calafate when the bus departs towards Parque Nacional Los Glaciares.
Once you arrive at the “Bajo de las Sombras” port (at only 7 Km from the walkways), you’ll board a ship to cross Lago Rico and descend on the opposite coast after a 20-minute navigation.
After walking for about 30 minutes, always with a view of the southern side of the glacier just in case there were thunderous ice calvings, and after reaching the ice, you’ll have an unforgettable experience. At that point, you’ll also enjoy different and intense shades of blue and white colors, with capricious forms. Take your time to capture the beauty with plenty of photographs, creating memories to treasure for a lifetime. Afterward, accompanied by our seasoned guide, you'll return to the embarkation point, traversing a natural terrain of sand and stones, encountering gentle slopes and stairs along the way. This scenic 1.5-kilometer walk hugs the lakeshore, offering glimpses of the lush greenwood and panoramic views of the magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier, making it an enchanting experience for the entire family to savor together.
Concluding the adventure, you'll board the ship to savor an up-close encounter with the marbled facade of the glacier, mere meters away. From the water's edge, every intricate detail of the glacier's majestic side reveals itself, offering a truly inspiring perspective.
Upon arriving to the port, you’ll take the bus towards the walkways where you’ll have two hours to enjoy an incredible panoramic view. You’ll also have time to have the lunch you brought from El Calafate.
Pass by: After visiting the Patagonian Steppe, you’ll arrive to El Calafate, with your heart full of the natural energy of this unique glacier. We can’t wait to be your host!

Traveler reviews
Wonderful walk! Excellent team!
I really liked the tour, very careful and attentive staff!
Not to be missed
Beautiful and unforgettable experience. They pick you up from your hotel and then during the trip a very prepared and very kind guide explains everything about El Calafate , the steppe , the fauna and the park. Visit to the glacier with excellent explanation and then free time. Early afternoon boat ride through the icebergs and approaching the glacier. Walk to go touch the glacier and stroke of luck we saw live a very large piece of ice break off and fall into the water. On return bar service and chocolates offered. Beautiful and super recommended
Tour gets better and...
Tour gets better and better as the day goes on. Get your smiles ready. The smaller boats are more fun. Be careful not to run out of film before you get to the closest balcony!
Review
The glacier is amazing and I’m glad I saw it but I wouldn’t go with this company. The tour is advertised as beginning at 8am and my ticket said 8am but they did not pick me up until 11:15. That should be listed clearly on the site. They also did not have English speaking guides. You will join a megabus of tourists.
Unforgettable experience
After a slow start with pick-ups & waiting to get tickets at the park I had a great day. The guides & staff were knowledgeable, helpful & friendly. We had 90 minutes on the platforms self-guilded, it was a good suggestion by the company to take your own lunch & sit with a view of the glacier. We then boarded the boat for an unforgettable trip past ice bergs to the other side to walk up to the edge of the glacier. On the way back the boat went along the face of the glacier, it was spectacular, to top it off they served liquor & chocolate. The company seemed like a large well organised company.
