Famous medical Scholars, like Hippocrates and Galenus, were born in Pergamum and worked there
When John wrote his letter, Pergamum had been a capital city for almost four hundred years. After the mythical times, Pergamum had been the scene of several cultures, ranging from those of the Stone and Bronze Ages until the Archaic and Classical Periods. Among the temples, palaces and agora’s, the Asklepion, which were constructed in the course of one century, belonged to the big Zeus Altar and the Parchment Library. There you explore the impressive Acropolis, the actual ancient city and see the Altar of Zeus which is mentioned as the throne of Satan’, Temple of Trajan and the third biggest library of antiquity.

Pergamon Day Trip
Sergio was right on time on time and was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He encouraged our questions and provided his own perspective as well. Would recommend although it is 1.5 hours each way from Izmir.
Great tour
Our guide, Gurkan, shared his knowledge about the history of these sights in a way that was both interesting and enjoyable. We finished up our tour eating Pide and Chai at a small restaurant. The vehicle we drove in was immaculate and quite comfortable. Very worthwhile.
Great excursion to Pergamum
The tour to Pergamon was amazing! Our guide Mr. Cengiz Yüce gave us excellent information about the history of Pergamon. He even invited us to an excellent meal. Definitely recommend.

The trip was just amazing! Our guide Gurkan, the car and the driver, the food, the attractions! Definitely recommend! I was actually worried cause nu never ordered before the trips from the local companies. But everything turned out just perfect. The tour was really good. Emre our Gide was very knowledgeable not only about these sights but also about how they related other sights we had seen on Turkey.
