Itinerary
Pass by: We’ll explore the Michelozzo’s courtyard, fully decorated with 1500s frescoes and discover why they contain Austrian landscapes; we’ll admire the magnificent “Salone del Cinquecento” and understand all its several transformations. Then we'll visit the family's rooms, fully ornamented with their portraits, representations of historical events and allegories of mythological gods. In there you'll also find highly significant artwork like the original by Giuditta and Oloferne, by Donatello, and meaningful rooms for the history of European Political Thought like Niccolò Macchiavelli's personal office. Excellent experience!
This guide company was very proactive in communications and helped us alter our tour due to the unexpected civic closing of Palazzo Vecchio on the afternoon we were scheduled for. They were flexible and rescheduled for the time that we were able to do it. Our guide Yulia was very knowledgeable about the site and history, and answered all of our questions.
Great first Viator experience
The museum is unheated in winter. There are not a lot of opportunities to sit down while the guide talks to the group.
History comes to life
Our guide, Daniele, is a master storyteller. He truly brought the era of the Medici to life. Daniele was able to answer all our questions and provided great detail. What a way to learn another history of Florence. Grazie Mille Daniele.
