Itinerary
Spanning nearly 800 years, with over 38 Colleges, Libraries and Faculty buildings - some of the best architecture in England is located here and world famous students spanning generations have also studied here
Argued to be one of the three oldest colleges at Oxford, we unearth the debate of who actually is the oldest, and why this college has one of the most bizarre chapels at Oxford.
A world renowned Copyright Library, with a priceless collection of books and miles upon miles of shelving space. Enter the Old School Quod for an in-depth understanding of the whole of the Bodleian Library complex, along with how students use the building today.
Arguable the historical epicenter of Oxford University
With the most controversial statue in Oxford, the tour uncovers the drama surrounding one of Oxfords most notorious graduates.
The first purpose built lecture room, and one of the greatest examples of Medieval Architecture in Europe. No wonder it was used in the filming of Harry Potter and other Hollywood films! Explore this famous ceremonial building, with those who have attended the ceremonies! During peak season (June–August), access to the Divinity School is extremely limited due to frequent closures and high demand, and may not be included in the tour. While some companies may claim otherwise, we prefer to be honest upfront rather than risk disappointment on the day.
Setup by students from Oxford - Footprints provides an authentic, fun and entertaining way to discover one of the most important cities in the world.
Built in 1748, part of the Bodleian Library and one of the most iconic buildings in Oxford - find out why from your student guide, with a beautiful external view of this famous round build from all angels!
Arguably one of the most beautiful colleges at Oxford University. This College brings across the beauty and historical drama of Oxford in one stunning setting.
Home to the best traditions of any College at Oxford - and possibly the most academically prestigious institution in the world.
Known to be a progressive institution, this beautiful college also features the most photographed site in Oxford
Part of the Bodleian Library, we enter the modern grand entrance hall, to discuss the collection of over 12 million books and how they keep them in such great condition. The architecture is stunning, with a creative use of light - and a nice contrast to the other parts of the Bodleian covered on the tour.

Great historical tour
Thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Thorstein, he was full of interesting stories about the rather violent history of Oxford and how the colleges were created. Recommended.
Amazing, interesting sites but weak guide
My family was very impressed with Oxford - everywhere you look is a site of historical or cultural significance. We enjoyed visiting the locations on the tour. Our guide was friendly and was at her best when describing current campus life. However, it was clear she had memorized a script and had no knowledge of the history of Oxford (city or university) beyond that script as she misstated some facts and couldn’t answer questions which clearly frustrated customers who had paid money for a guided tour.
Ross is great!
Ross has been great. Great story teller with more authentic take on the stories.
A Good Memorable Oxford Walking Tour!!
We recently took a walking tour of Oxford University and had a very enjoyable experience. Our guide conducted the tour with genuine enthusiasm and professionalism, especially impressive given that it was her first tour with us. She shared thoughtful insights into the university’s history and architecture, which added real depth to the visit. We went during the last week of May, when London was experiencing unusually high temperatures, and the heat made parts of the walk more challenging than expected. For anyone planning this tour, I would recommend choosing one of the cooler months to fully appreciate the beauty of Oxford without the discomfort of the heat. Overall, it was a memorable and worthwhile experience!
Interesting tour with a fun tour guide.
We had an interesting and informative tour with EJ. We walked through some of the colleges and learned about the history and inner workings of student life at Oxford.
