Traveler reviews
Wonderful trip!
Abdul Rahman ( my tour guide) excellently conducted the tour. He connected exceptionally well and ensured my comfort throughout the journey to Mt. Sinai. Thank you I really enjoyed the tour ❤️

Best to avoid
We travelled to Dahab expressly to visit St Catherine’s and Mount Sinai. We were very clear (repeatedly and in writing) of our requirements in advance and $270 duly changed hands. But when we got to the site, St Catherine’s was closed and our Bedouin guide unaware of any requirement to see anything other than the monastery. We asked the locals why it was closed. Three separate people said that it was always closed on this particular day every year for religious reasons. They pressured us to just see the outside of the monastery and climb up Mount Sinai to “complete the tour”. We asked for either a refund or to rearrange the full tour for the following day but Emo tours responded that they were not to know it was closed so we could not have a refund. If we wanted to try again the following day, it would be another $270 (they later offered a 10% discount so $243 but still nearly double for the same trip). Having travelled across Egypt for the experience, we felt deeply let down by Emo tours and appalled that they pocketed our money without providing the promised service: even though they did not pay the Bedouin guide or any entrance fees. Emo Tours also had a pattern of giving incorrect statements as reasons not to refund us: a) Emo Tours representatives in Cairo tried to claim the monastery was closed “for security reasons” (it was not - people at the monastery told us otherwise) and b) they tried to claim we had refused to speak to the boss about our situation (this was a lie - the person my husband spoke to said she would talk to the boss). Prospective customers might want to weigh up the risk of this sort of cancellation without refund.
