Full description

All of our sessions are fun and educational! Children will have the opportunity to participate in all of the activities that we offer at River Riders. In addition during their free time, we’ll teach them the basics of guiding and river safety. Goals for your child include: increased confidence, learning, building character, sense of accomplishment, fun, and friendship.

 

Activities include white water rafting, kayaking, and paddleboarding on the beautiful Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers (class I-III),  tubing, zipline canopy tour, ropes courses, and hiking (and more!) in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.

 

Sessions will include a unique opportunity to visit four National Park Service entities: Harpers Ferry National Park, Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Park, Potomac National Heritage Trail, and Appalachian National Scenic Trail.

 

Shuttles are available from Martinsburg, Hagerstown, MD, Winchester, VA, Leesburg, Frederick, Shepherdstown and Charles Town, WV.

Meeting point

Outdoor Adventure Camp drop-off is from 8:15 am to 9:00 am. Mornings activities begin promptly at 9:00 am so please don’t be late.

Important information

Know before you book

  • Ages 9 – 14 years old
  • 3 and 5 Day Options
  • Advanced registration is required
  • There is 10 camper minimum per session for a camp week to run

  • Bring bagged lunches that don't require cooling/heating
  • Be ready to learn the basics of guiding & river safety
  • Be prepared to get wet on rainy days
  • Drop-off = 8:15 am to 9:00 am
  • Pick-Up = 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Cancellation policy

Free cancellation up to 24 days before the activity starts

$15 per person is non-refundable until 4 days before the date of your activity. +We will NOT REFUND cancellations or no shows with less than 3 days notice (14 days if receiving a group discount). +Selecting the Cancellation Protection allows you to cancel your tour and receive a full refund on the value of the tour up to 4 hours before your departure time, no questions asked.
