Traveler reviews
Disappointing overall - wouldn't recommend.
The pickup location was far from our hotel and in a sketchy area. The drive each way is about 3 hours, so you're spending 6 hours in the car for two sights that combined kept us busy for maybe an hour. Ait Ben Haddou looks nice for a few photos but that's about it. It's small, takes 20 minutes to walk through, and is completely overrun with vendors. Felt more like a tourist trap than an authentic experience. The film studio was just okay - the guide there was friendly and pleasant, which was a highlight. But shortly after, the car's AC broke down and we were stuck waiting in the heat for 1.5 hours with nothing around while they sorted it out. Lunch was at one of those massive tourist restaurants - low quality, badly cooked. Had stomach issues afterwards. The drop-off was a mess. Despite agreeing on a city centre drop-off, we had to sit through every other passenger being dropped off first - even when we passed our location multiple times. The tour ran over 2 hours late, and at the end the driver and guide were busy dividing tips while we were waiting to be dropped off. The main guide was uninspiring - basic commentary, no real insight into the history or culture. The price was low, and that's the only positive thing I can say.
great experience! Pickup...
great experience! Pickup and drop off were seamless, the guide was knowledgeable and warm. overall 10/10!
We had an amazing time.
The Atlas Film Studios were an incredible experience and definitely a must-see place. We highly recommend this tour — don’t leave without visiting it! Also, a big thank you to our tour driver Hamza for his kindness, smiling face, helpfulness, and professionalism. The vehicle was very clean and comfortable, and the driving was safe and smooth throughout the trip. Thanks to him, we had an amazing day!
Scenic drive to Ait Ben Haddou
The tour involves a long drive through the Atlas Mountains but the scenery was fabulous and there were several breaks on the way. Ait Ben Haddou is an amazing historic fortified town and was a highlight. We wouldn’t normally have visited a film studio but it was interesting and the guide was informative. The entry price for the studio and lunch were not included but there isn’t much option but to pay. Despite this it was a good tour and recommended.
Great tour!
My tour guide was Mohamed and he was the best! He knew how to speak three languages and kept everyone engaged. He provided lots of useful information and is very knowledgeable. Be prepared for a long bus ride as it is very far.
