Reviews
The food was great.
Melissa was a fantastic guide! She took us to a variety of delicious spots that we never in a million years would have found on our own. She is knowledgeable, warm, and a delight to be with. Highly recommend! (The meetup point was just a little tough, mostly due to a protest at the station; highly recommend the what3words app to pinpoint an exact location.)
We had a truly wonderful evening at the Evening with Maiko – Special Kaiseki Dinner with a Geisha Performance in Kyoto. The evening was beautifully organised from start to finish and gave us a fascinating insight into a unique part of Japanese culture. The kaiseki dinner was delicious, and the Maiko performance was elegant, graceful and a real privilege to experience. A very special thank you goes to our guide, Yoshiko, who was warm, knowledgeable and engaging throughout the evening. She explained the traditions and customs with great enthusiasm, making the experience both enjoyable and easy to understand. Her passion for Kyoto’s culture really shone through. We would also like to thank the lovely Maiko who performed for us. Although we can’t remember her name, she was incredibly graceful, charming and patient during the performance and question-and-answer session. It was an unforgettable opportunity to see such a beautiful art form up close. This was one of the highlights of our visit to Kyoto, and we would highly recommend it to anyone wanting an authentic and memorable cultural experience. Thank you to everyone involved for such a special evening.
