Traveler reviews
Last minute decision
I wouldn’t say it was a last minute decision to eat on this boat, but we literally had one leg on the harbour wall when the boat pulled away! We decided as we entered so late to eat on the middle deck as the upper floor was full. We didn’t know that our ticket had a designated table which was in an excellent location! Dinner was ok for buffet albeit some items were cold. The beef was good however the deserts were bland. I didn’t come for the food ultimately as the cruise at nighttime was great.
One time is enough
Honestly was I nightmare to bring the ticket We received an email was to collect tickets at Pier 4 and then was Pier 2 and then to go back to Pier 4 waiting the boat. At that time was thousand of people and was very difficult to walk especially with kids. The queue was massive and completely out of control … and the boat arrived also not on time. The food was ok but beef cold and overcooked honestly I didn’t liked it I eat just fries. The boat in the other hand is very nice but I recommend to dinner in the roof top inside is quite busy of people. The tour is nice and the view is impressive. I recommend to see other company One time in life is enough
Nice evening on the river
We had a great time on the dinner cruise. The atmosphere was great & lively. Food was good for a buffet & has a lot of variety.
Great dinner cruise!
This dinner cruise was very well organized. Staff had signs to show you where to sign in as well as to help you find the correct loading pier. Once on board, you were escorted to your assigned seating. The food was excellent and plentiful—lots of variety to suit everyone’s preferences. Service was great as was the live music on the top deck. Overall, a truly enjoyable experience that was well worth the price.
Expensive Due To Limited Food Options Compared to Other Buffets
We bought the Opulence Buffet Dinner Cruise through Klook. It was the most expensive tour package we bought for our trip to Thailand. Registration: We went to Pier 1 of ICONSIAM at 6:15 pm and showed our Klook voucher at the Opulence counter. We were given three stickers to put on each of our shirts. We were also given three tickets, which mentioned our reservation number and it showed that we will be seated on the rooftop. We had some time so we went to visit the ICONSIAM mall. Boarding: We came to Pier 2 of ICONSIAM by 7:45 pm to wait for the boarding, which was at 8:00 pm. It was raining so we had to go to a nearby shelter and wait. Also, there was another cruise ship that was boarding passengers from 7:45 pm. But the other cruise ship only left at around 8:05 pm. Opulence cruise came at around 8:10 pm. I asked the staff it was raining so do we have to change seats. She told me that all passengers on the rooftop seat will be reassigned to either upper deck or lower deck. Seating: Once we boarded we showed our tickets to the staff. We were reassigned to a table on the upper deck. But our seat had no view. So I asked if we could change the seat to another table behind us, which was empty. Initially the staff told me no because all seats are fixed and prearranged. But it would be possible if the guest for the table behind us did a no show. Once the cruise closed door and started moving and was confirmed that the guest for the table behind us didn’t come we were able to change our seat to the one behind us next to window with a view. Food On Offer On Day I Visited (Please note that food on offer is subject to change without notice): (1) Salad section: Nicoise Salad, Chinese Salad, Hawaiian Salad, Thai-Style Glass Noodle Salad, Kimchi and Salad Bar. (2) Seafood section: River Prawns, New Zealand Mussels, Grilled Prawns, Steamed Seabass with Lemon, Stir-Fried Seafood in Curry Powder. (3) Beef/Chicken section: Beef Steak, Hamburg Steak with Mushroom Cream Sauce, Beef Stew and Chicken Karaage with Onion Sauce. (4) Pasta section: Stir-Fried Fusilli with chili Paste, Lasagna and Pad Thai with Prawns. (5) Rice section: Fried Rice and Steamed Rice, (6) Curry section: Green curry with Chicken (7) Sashimi/Sushi: Salmon Sashimi and five different types of sushi. (8) Vegetable section: Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables (9) Bread section: Bread and Butter. (10) Soup section: Tom Yum with Prawns soup and Creamy Potato soup. (11) Others: French Fries. (12) Desert: White Chestnut in Coconut Milk, Fruits (Watermelon, Dragon Fruit and Pineapple) and variety of cakes (Green Tea Cake, Éclair, Chocolate Ball, Blueberry Yoghurt Cake and Chedder Cheese Cake) and variety of Thai Deserts. Overall, the food tasted satisfactory. But it had limited options compared to the Bangkok Sky Buffet Dinner at Baiyoke Sky Hotel. I also say limited because instead of providing new types of dishes they had 2 Pad Thai with Prawns, 2 Stir Fried Fusilli with chili Paste, 2 Lasagna, 2 Chicken Karaage with Onion Sauce, 2 Beef Stew and 2 Green Curry with Chicken, 2 Stir Fried Seafood in Curry Powder, 2 Hamburg Steak with Mushroom Cream Sauce, 2 Steamed Seabass with Lemon, 2 Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables, 2 Steamed Rice and 2 Fried Rice. For drinks they only provide you with refillable water and a small welcome drink. Any other drink you would need to pay for it at extra cost. This is the first buffet I went to with no drinks included. I also find that the food is not refilled a lot after 9:00 pm. I enjoyed the salad section, sashimi/sushi section, vegetable section and desert section. Chicken Karaage and Hamburg Steak with Mushroom tasted good. But it was quite tough to chew the beef steak. Atmosphere: Atmosphere was good because there were live bands singing while you eat. On the upper deck where we sat there were two live bands singing. When the rain stopped people could go to the rooftop to enjoy the atmosphere. There was a live band performing on the rooftop too. There was a small bar on the rooftop where they would make you a drink but you need to pay for it. Special Occasions: Was initially told that they don’t do special occasions by Ake of One Asia as I tried to arrange one for my daughter’s middle school graduation. But found out later that the live band sang happy birthday song and some guests were provided complimentary cakes. Service: Service by the staff was good. They would take away empty dishes as promptly as they can. When requested they will refill your water. Guest: Mixture of international and local Thai guests. Return: Opulence Cruise returned to Pier 2 at around 10:15 pm. Most of ICONSIAM mall was nearly closed. Therefore, it was very tiring going back to our hotel. As a result, not recommended to bring young children. It would be better if cruise started earlier at 6:30 pm or 7:00 pm. Conclusion: People have their own view. But for me the food on offer is the most important. Anything else is secondary. With the limited food option and the fact that you need to pay extra for drinks is not worth the price I paid. It seems a good chunk of what I paid goes to not only the staff but the band playing music for you.
